Hotel was fine, room was clean, washroom had heated floors! Location itself was pretty good, walking distance to almost everything we cared about. Lots of places to eat close by but not in the hotel. Although location was within walking distance of everything, it was at a very loud and busy intersection. Trucks, noise at all hours, late and “really” early morning. This morning around 4 it sounded like there with city garbage or some kind of maintenance trucks. Parking was underground but at a building a short walk away, $25 a night. I can’t recall if it said that in the online reservation. I just assumed, small town parking possibly free. Anyway, not a bad place, clean enough, close to everything, but the street noise just prevented a good nights sleep after walking a lot all day.

Our nightly parking charge is at par with other Victoria hotels - Guests also have the option to use the metered street parking OR the City Hall Parkade. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but the layout was not particularly nice and had a lot of noise from busy street and people at night.

Dear Diane - thank you for your rating & review. I would like to mention a few details that were not noted in your review. As I explained to you upon your departure - you reserved and pre-paid a reservation directly through Expedia. Then wanted to adjust the amount of nights stayed. In this case as you reserved and pre-paid a stay directly with Expedia, you would have to contact Expedia to make the adjustment. In regards to room types and prices - when you reserve a Superior Queen Room then would like a Superior Double Queen Room the rates are different. Also notes on your Expedia listing and our Hotels main website. When my Team was requesting codes this was our way of assisting you with your reservation request to shorten your stay. The hotel is lovely, our room was big and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel restaurant was quite nice. It is a very noisy area with local bars and lots of late night activity but that's to be expected staying downtown. If you are a light sleeper this might not work for you but I would stay here again. The gym is also not in the hotel but just a quick walk around the corner. It is a really nice gym with all the equipment and space you would want. The neighborhood is mixed with lots of great restaurants, shops and coffee places, but there is also a lot of transient people and open drug use you need to be looking out for.

Ok, the bar/restaurant is super loud and can be heard even up as high as 3rd floor. Older hotel renovated. Had that Victoria funky smell like everything was put away wet. Common to most buildings that don’t run dehumidifier’s.

You reserved a Superior Queen Room and that’s what we assigned you too - and it’s one of our quiet rooms as well. If an issue arises we would wish Guests would let us know while staying with us so we could rectify and ensure for a comfortable stay. Not to have a review without any explanation is frustrating. We enjoyed our stay at the Rialto. The rooms were modern & clean. The staff was wonderful & willing to keep our bags before check in & after check out which allowed us to optimize our time in Victoria without lugging around packs. It was easy to navigate to and from the downtown core from this hotel.

The service and the staff were excellent. The hotel is located near the historical Chinatown and good food places. I would have liked to have the secured parking and the fitness centre within the same building as the accommodation.

Highly recommend.The property is a beautiful character building with lovely fixtures and fittings, fabulous staff and a lovely restaurant and lounge. Premium TV and Comcast also available.

Our first time to Victoria with our teenage daughter. Only stayed one night, so the central location was key to exploring all we could in such a short amount of time. The staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly. The queen beds were comfortable and the pillows were the fluffiest I’ve ever encountered while traveling. The shower is small but not tiny.
