I love that the hotel is near the historical area. However, the area has seen better days. The area is safe, there are marines and police everywhere. Our view from our hotel room was an abandoned lot. The government is doing its best in restoring the area. Be aware when going there are a lot of ruins and unmaintained buildings.

I stayed there for a week traveling from united state was given a option to upgrade the room which i took the view was excellent and then staffing was great.its a little bit out dated but if you like vintage it's a good place to stay.

It was ok. The room was a little damp, and the a/c was too powerful for the size of the room. The restaurant downstairs is to be a pides. The food is bland and lukewarm. The shower in the room was great! Lots of pressure and hot water. The personnel was pretty friendly, except that a lady warned me because I displaced a little table in the lobby to study while my hubby was napping. The hotel is situated in the commercial port of Veracruz, and it can be pretty noisy very early in the morning. We had a double bed, kinda small but comfy enough. We asked for extra pillows which were provided with a smile. Hotel ok for the price.

Mar y Tiera was a nice hotel. Elevator broke for a day, on our floor it did not go down, you had to push up, then elevator went down. The bartender was fantastic. The food was decent. Location was great.
