"It's a lovely guesthouse in a former school building, with a small room but a comfortable common area and a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful views of the fjord. The area is a bit isolated--just a tiny village, and it takes over an hour to get there from the main road by a steep winding dirt road. We hiked up the hill, but the trail isn't well maintained. It's a great place for peace and quiet, but not as a base for exploring the eastern fjords."

"The Lonsleira Apartments is a unique collection of 4 apartments or two buildings (duplex) side by side by the water in a beautiful fjord. Everything you would need is in the apartment. A kitchen with all the amenities, spacious bathroom and many bedrooms. Also an outdoor deck with BBQ.
We are a family room and there was ample space for us to share. Restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. It is a smaller town so various restaurants weren't open during our stay and grocery...
"Such a beautiful hotel in such a beautiful town. The scenery along a mirrored lake and next to the Blue Church was breathtaking. The room was really large with a balcony view of the lake. The bed was cozy and the sheets so soft. She even left us an entire chocolate bar to enjoy. We loved our stay!"
"Rather than stay in Egilsstadir, stay a bit outside of it. Direct access to the lake and, not mentioned in their promos, their own small waterfall!! Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful."
"Self-check in was easy and allowed for flexible arrival time. The room was plenty sufficient for my husband and me in the big bed and 2 sons (ages 17 and 12) in the bunk beds. The two restroom facilities downstairs were clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we appreciated the instant coffee. The area around the hotel felt safe and was near a fuel station and restaurants."
