Hotel is located at a side of a hill, so shuttle or taxis wont park at the front, you must walk 100mts to get there. The town has just a few options of restaurants and shops. You have to take a taxi to go around, it is easy to get it and not expensive. Uber works. Staff is really gentle and rooms are big, you will really live the turkish culture.

One of the best holidays. The owners were always helpful, organized the ballon flight and the trips. From the first seconds it was like home. Should we go on holiday there again, there is only one dress. Thanks for everything.

We had the lovely pleasure of staying at this gorgeous, clean, family friendly hotel! Aside from the fact that amenities, room, breakfast, cleanliness, location was perfect,, the hotel staff Fatma and her lovely workers was the by far the best experience we had. They made us feel like family, welcomed us with so much love and addressed all our questions, concerns every single time with a lot care and consideration. We also had a toddler, so naturally our demands were higher than normal because of that, but we felt so accommodated for. I can’t express my gratitude to Fatma and the staff. Thank you! I can’t wait to come back.

Fatma was a lovely host. She was helpful and always cheery. The breakfasts were nice Turkish style breakfasts (al fresco) which was nice. The hotel was small with 7 individual rooms. We were in the Sultan suite which was very interesting and tastefully decorated. It was lovely to stay in a cave type hotel room which had been modernised. We stayed in June and didn't need AC at all. The cave room temperature stayed pretty constant and therefore it was slightly chilly at night and we definitely needed the blanket that had been supplied. The area around the hotel in Ortahisar was very quiet and peaceful compared to the very touristy hustle and bustle of Goreme. There were some reasonable restaurants in the area and we enjoyed the local coffee shop and the castle. Some suggestions to improve the room would include attention to the hot water (we would have to run the tap for a good few minutes before getting warm/hot water). In addition the seating area of the 'balcony' through the patio doors could be improved and made more comfortable. Also more towels, some bathrobes and a fridge would be useful. Also the door lock was quite difficult to use unless applying a lot of force to push the door while turning the key. An electric heater is needed for the evenings. Despite all of this, we had a lovely few days at Abu Hayat Cave Suites and have fond memories.

Hotel is amazing. No surprise when Hasan said it took years to renovate. Fatma and her siblings are great hosts with a wealth of knowledge about surrounding areas and even had us over for home cooked dinner one eve. Freezing outside - have no fear as caves are warm and toasty. Room and views outside are both spectacular. Highly recommend this unique hide away and will stay there again in a different season next time.

A hidden gem!

I can't say enough good things about my stay here. Fatima and her family were so welcoming! The rooms are spectacular; honestly the pictures don't do it justice. The views from the porch where breakfast is served are beautiful and the breakfasts...they just kept bringing out more and more food. If you are driving there be aware that the road to the hotel is narrow and there is no visible parking but go inside the hotel and one of the family members will go out and show you where to park. You can walk to town (it is a short but upward climb the whole way though)

Wonderful retreat with excellent service

Fatma’s cave suites are a charming little retreat in Ortahisar. The rooms are really special, but are trumped by Fatma’s warm welcome and care. She welcomed us with a team and cake, served us delicious breakfast and looked after us wonderfully during our stay. As for the room, there was a huge bathroom, the views were stunning and the place was well-heated. We found the place more authentic than alternatives we had considered in Goreme.

Such hospitality ! Such warm communication ! We will never forget this experience. We felt all the turkish culture and tradition.
