"I assume for what it is, it was ok. I did not stay as the room was right next to the train track. The window had a bug net, but it was broken and bugs came in. Very rustic. But for a short night stay I am sure it would be ok. Just not for me."

"Sadly, this one time lovely destination spot has become a deep disappointment. The rooms were not clean and there were no amenities to speak of: no coffee maker in room, no microwave in room, no sundries available for purchase. The website, brochures, and billboards all advertise continental breakfast, in room amenities, and items for purchase but these were available under the previous owners and are no more. The walking trail was lined with piles of dumped trash, making a once beautiful...

"Hotel is older but kept relatively clean. Garbage cans outside could have been emptied on a more regular basis. They were overflowing with garbage. Bathroom door hinges in room were in dire need oiling. Squeak was so loud you needed hearing protection. Beds were comfortable. Could have used a vacuum under the beds. Dust bunnies were breeding under there."

"System was having trouble to see check-ins. Told us we did not have a booking. Showed them our booking. They were able to finally find it. Printer not working to give us receipt. Everything else was fine with the room."

"What a beautiful, affordable inn right beside the highway and Lake of the Woods. Arrived late in the evening during a cross-Canada trip and the staff were very helpful, and provide an option for key drop off when leaving very early the next morning as I did. Clean, comfortable, and very well priced rooms. No concerns about vehicle break-ins here at all, which was not the case further on through Winnipeg, for example. I will be back on my next return trip to Ontario!"

"Tried to cancel about 47 hours before the stay because of a death in the family. No one answered the phone. Then sent an email. The response from the motel stated that the “policy” was that cancellations had to be made 48 hours before so we would be charged for one night. No compassion here."

"The rooms were not at all like the pictures. The carpets in the rooms and hallway are absolutely disgusting. The room stunk likr someone had sprayed a can of room freshner in the room. The front desk guy was not at all friendly.There is no elevator, just stairs. On the upside the restaurant was very good and the service excellent."

"I didn’t like the fact I paid $400.00 for a water view and 10th floor. When my son and girlfriend checked in they were put on the third floor with parking lot view. I booked the room and didn’t tell them about which floor or room prior. So needless to say I was disappointed to hear about this lower vibe room the next day from them. False false false. It be nice to have a comp. for a next visit. Regards Warren"

"To be fair it is under renovations. The room we stayed in was CLEAN and nice however there was no hot water at night and no cold water in the morning and no air conditioning. Also there is no bolt on the door (which is alarming for solo female travellers) it was also very apparent that on the event of a fire everyone was going to die. No windows to open and no easy stair accesss."
