Staff isn't courteous and food is just okay. They mention different timings for checkout than what is mentioned in the booking email. Overall not a good experience staying with them
A neat and pleasant hotel with haveli style architecture. Accessibility is pretty good and it was fairly easy to find the place. Check-in was smooth and the staff were courteous without being overbearing or asking if you are having a great time a thousand times :-)The room looked a tad smaller than the picture on the site but all the trims and fixtures were nice. The marble flooring and the antique style furniture give it a good appearance. The room was extremely clean and well maintained.
The rooftop restaurant has a fantastic view of the city and all the tourist attractions. The view especially in the evening needs special mention. The prices on the menu are mid range. A meal for four would cost between Rs 1000 - 1500. We sampled the vegetarian fare and it was pretty good.
The free parking advertised on the site is in front of the hotel (not really inside) but its a pretty safe neighborhood.
Overall, a good place for a family stay or a solo-getaway for a day or two
Overall a very good experience: Room was quite comfortable and clean. Hot water and AC in the rooms worked great. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant was really good for breakfast and dinner, with great views of the Udaipur palace at night. For the price it was an excellent choice!
We did a pretty early checkin (around 730 AM) and the manager had no issues what so ever.
I searched for a Hotel in Udaipur on Hotels.com and read the review before booking. And I am not disappointed!!!
First of all, Hotel Royal Pratap Niwas is not a hotel, but would call it a high end guest house. The staff were very warm and cordial. They had a personal touch, which helped us have a good experience of our stay in Udaipur. The room was very spacious and airy. The people at the front desk gave us good suggestion in going around in the city. The restaurant was very good and the food was sumptuous and delicious. We had most of our meals at the restaurant. The roof top restaurant gave a beautiful view of Lake Pichola and the City Palace. I would definitely recommend this hotel for stay at Udaipur, unless you are looking for a very high end and polished experience.
The hotel is not in the center of Udaipur but it has a beautiful view of the city from the rooftop and the room I stayed in. The owners/front desk staff did everything to make my stay comfortable. The restaurant staff were really helpful and there was a good selection for the buffet breakfast.
This hotel offers good value for money but I'll remember it most for its friendly, helpful staff and the great view of the Palaces I had :)

Nice hotel but toilets are smelly
There was a continuous smell coming from toilets. It was not fixed till we stayed there.
Apart from that it was ok.
