Beautiful location Very natural. Woke up to calls of howler monkeys in the jungle. Reception efficient but impersonal. WIFI only at reception/bar. Appears wind/time has removed thatch from most buildings. Pool very nice but no lounge chairs.

En la llegada la recepcionista del lunes 27 por la tarde no fue nada agradable. No le agrado que pagáramos con tarjeta. Al entrar en la habitación, las sábanas estaban sucias y olían feo, fue muy desagradable, estaban manchadas de maquillaje y sangre. No lo recomendaría... es una lástima porque el alrededor del lugar es bonito

Excellent, hidden gem.

Beautiful place, big rooms, very clean, very quiet. The food was good but could be better. Excellent for parties, weddings and events like that. The staff as very kind. Only one complaint, the shower put out very little water.

Relaxing quiet Hacienda

We loved this little hacienda, it is located down a quaint dirt road but once there it was very quiet enjoyable relaxing stay. Beautiful pool only a couple other families so you felt as though you had the place to yourself

Avoid Chiapa de Corzo, unless in emergency

There is really no need to stay at Chiapa de Corzo. Simply not worth it... If visiting the "Cañon del Sumidero" (which is indeed worthwile) is your reason for going there, fine, make the necessary stopover for your "Sumidero" tour, and then continue elsewhere... like to wonderful San Cristóbal de las Casas. If for any reason (i.e. a car malfunction) you must stay at Chiapa de Corzo, well, in that case, Hacienda San Francisco is probably the most comfortable choice, given the alternatives (worse...). You will be out of the town, and not far away from a petrol station,

Nice El Chorreadero Base Camp

This is a great place to stay if you are doing an expedition through El Chorreadero. It is only 20 minutes away. The hotel is typical rural Mexico accommodations and is quite pleasant. The hotel says it has wifi but only in the lounge area. However, we found that the bottom most floor of the hotel does have wifi. Furthermore, some of those rooms also have a small kitchen with a refrigerator and a hot plate...very convenient. Be sure to bring a power strip, since there are limited electrical outlets in each room. The staff was very attentive, but they do not have any English speakers. We had to use Google translate. The on-site restaurant was not open while we were there, but there are limited options nearby. As short ride to town has plenty of dining options. Everyone in our party was happy with our stay.

This is a large property outside of town. The only issue that I had with it was that food/drink was not always available so it is a taxi ride into town for morning coffee/etc.

Muy buena atención del personal, muy grande y con todo a la mano hasta alberca pero lo malo es que está muy descuidado y se ve muy viejo, las camas incomodas, una buena remodelación le caería de maravilla, pero tiene excelente ubicación y relación costo-calidad.

En general bastante malo.

El hotel está bastante peor de lo que se muestra en fotos o reviews. Se escucha todo el movimiento de recepción en las habitaciones, los cuartos están sucios y viejos. La TV no sirve bien y en general la experiencia es mala. La regadera no saca agua caliente, tienes que esperar un rato y cuando sale es muy fuerte y lastima. El WiFi tampoco sirve bien. Se conecta pero no tiene acceso a internet casi nunca.

Beautiful views, nice rooms but slightly rundown

It was a beautiful place to stay although the swimming pool and ponds/fountains were not really kept up. You can tell it was once used by richer clientele but now just for a few tourists here and there. The restaurants and cafe are only open on weekends I think and it just felt deserted. The local town square was lively and there's a very good Italian restaurant in town.

I cannot recommend this hotel

The Hacienda San Francisco is a pretty place with a nice pool and beautiful scenery. However, the room smelled like it had a gas leak, and when I returned from the front desk with the internet code, my co worker was vomitting from the smell. The desk clerk moved us to another room, and seemed genuinely happy to help. We went to dinner, and when we returned, the second room had the same smell. I booked a room in another hotel and took a taxi there. I was not willing to risk my life by spending the night at the Hacienda. I am awaiting a refund from Orbitz and the issue is pending.
