The mattress and seating were very comfortable for somebody like myself who has many orthopaedic issues. The bathroom had a wonderful huge bath and excellent shower. "The Birches is an absolutely beautiful location. It is so picturesque, and quiet. An absolutely lovely spot. The house itself is charming, but folks with limited mobility would have a hard time navigating the steps, uneven floors, and doorways. The area directly surrounding it is perfect for long walks through the hills."

"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil.
