The outside is nothing like the inside. Although older and run down looking the room was clean and perfect for our stay. The hot springs soak was nice (minus the guy who kept shushing even the people who were whispering) and the gift shop area was full out cute and useful items. They price was fantastic and I see us staying at the Charles more frequently!

Amazing hot springs hotel
Amazing hot springs and cool rooms very reasonably priced and relaxed stay. Rent a hot tub on the roof and look at the sky!
Don't judge this place by the looks on the outside! Unlock the door to your room (we had room# 3) and step into a comfortable, clean, spacious room with plenty of charm and comfy beds.
The bath house is incredibly clean and quiet and oh so rejuvenating! If you are in the area, you should definitely check this place out!!
Very good relaxing stop for us , our room is very spacious and comfortable it is classic , my wife called it rustic , in it's decor but very functional .
Great hosts , we enjoyed our stopover here

We had a great weekend at this small but cozy place. The rooms are pretty good, and equipped with the basic for cooking. Unfortunately our oven/stove wasnât working, but since we didnât do much cooking it didnât interfere as much.
This place was interesting. The single tub soak was great. The staff was very nice
Hotel is nice place but little out of date. Parking was easy and everything was clean!
We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The room and bed were comfortable. There was even a separate kitchen with a table in it. A soak is included with every stay and for a small amount more you can enjoy a rooftop soak, which we really enjoyed and I would highly recommend. This wasnât a super fancy place, but it was just lovely and we will definitely return!!
Great place in ToC! Expect no frills and the rooms are definitely a little âjanky.â However, that is very much the theme of this little southwestern town. Great staff, canât remember the gals name who helped me with the baths and explained everything to me, it was my first time, but she was an esentric black lady. Excellent staff, wonderful baths, and awesome location. A must if staying in ToC!
Oh! And donât forget to book the roof top!!!!

We had a good time
Room was nice and comfortable, but we did have a few issues with toilet not flushing. Also the stove was complicated and we didn't know how to work it. We paid extra $30 to reserve the roof top tub, and that was awesome. They also have indoor tubs that are free to use with your stay. Those seemed nice and clean. Also nice to be across the street from grocery store and short walk to the brewery.
We went up on the roof for a sunset soak--very pleasing. Rooms are rustic with some doodads and quirky things.
You might try to get a room with a full kitchen.
Friendly, personal service: I made a mistake and took my card with me on the soak--Marilyn and staff went above and beyond to find it and send it to me!
The hotel itself was cute and the staff was very nice but we had a few issues from the go. We arrived late (8:30 pm) and got into our room but it was clear it hadnât been thoroughly cleaned. There was an obvious dog pee stain on the furniture and it hadnât been vacuumed in a long time. Then when we tried to shower we realized we didnât have any towels. There was no one around to ask so we made due with the towel we had with us. In the bathroom there were stains all over the floor that I was able to sort of mop off with a hand towel. It felt like a dirty college apartment. We also didnât have any hand soap though there was body wash in the shower provided. Overall the stay was cheap and convenient. I told the front desk upon checkout about the issues with the room and the lady was very nice and apologetic and said she would report it to the owners who would be in touch. They were never in touch.
I didn't want the corporate motel. I wanted something old and unique in the historic part of town that didn't look like a fast food restaurant. When I arrived, the place looked a little too "unique". I was treated with kindness and friendliness and given a quick tour of the quirky details that make this hotel a special place. I'll be back. It's not for everyone, but neither is fast food. Unique places are fewer and further between now. You might need help to get the TV working at first, but when the friendly staff will help you, little things like that don't matter.
The room was quite nice and larger than I expected. It was clean and comfortable. It was old and charming with clever decor. I love that.
The main building dates from the 1940s and has soaking tubs with the hot spring water piped directly in. It's not what you will find in many places. Seek out the unusual.
