  • I took this photo in Messinia, Greece in summer 2016. It's of Voidokilia Beach and it's surroundings. Voidokilia Beach is on the Peloponnese peninsula and it was the most picturesque beach that I visited during that Greek trip, which was almost exclusively in Messinia. On that mountain is Nestor's Cave and above this are the ruins of a 13th-century Frankish castle (Old Navarino or Palaiokastro). Look closely and you will see :). I didn't get to walk up there. It was brutally hot that day and I spent most of the time at the beach. But, I did make time for some hiking. Near where I took this photo there was a lot of medieval or ancient ruins. Near those beautiful rocks. I had to be careful when walking on them, but it was worth it!

My day was exceptional and beautiful. The room was very clean and the host was super kind. He took the time to send recommendations for nearby restaurants and things to do and he really took the time to make our stay extra accommodating and special! Would highly recommend this place.

Gorgeous views, new posh hotel, walking distance!

It is a brand new gorgeous hotel. The rooms are extremely cozy. We stayed in the beginning of October in a room with a pool and the water was very refreshing. It was great to get in and out but not warm enough to stay in longer that several minutes. The view is breath taking and you will wake up to it. We opened the huge balcony door and enjoyed the breeze and the view of a deep blue waters with an island in front. The coffee shop/restaurant is just 15 min walk along the shore. The one of the most gorgeous beaches that Greece has to offer Voidoilokya is just 10 min drive away. The place has easy access no washer/dryer yet (for those that stay longer than 4 days it might be important) but we asked for the dryer rack and that helped. The owners of the place were always in touch and responsive. Make sure to establish the time of cleaning because the cleaning will happen on agreed time and not later or earlier. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the place.
We had our breakfast/lunch on the patio very often. Gorgeous view!
This is the cafe/restaurant Riki 15min walk. Flat white is fantastic there!

We stayed in the property outside Marathopoli. The property is located on the water. We walked the beach every day. The room is modern but cozy; had everything we needed. There were treats left for us to enjoy from local producers. Antoni our host gave us plenty or recommendations of things to do - he checked in on us daily. Very happy with everything! Thank you!!!
