"We enjoyed our stay at Yavapai Lodge. It is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, lodging complexes at the Grand Canyon. Rooms are in a number of lodge buildings extending out from a central courtyard containing all the amenities (restaurants, gift shops, etc.). If you have any mobility issues, ask for a room in a building close to the central square, and believe them when they tell you to bring a flashlight for walking home at night. It's dark! On the down side, the rooms are like a family vacation in the 70s, though well-maintained and clean, and there is no wifi in the rooms. (That was a shock!) On the up side, they have lovely views of the trees and are near dining and other options. The shuttle bus that takes you all over the National Park is close by. The food is pretty good and delivered quickly. There's kind of a fun buzz here."
"Beware-we booked a Standard Room, 1 Queen Bed Street Level--thinking street level equated to the level of the main entrance. In fact - it was a lower level/basement room. Front desk refused to move us because our reservation stated 'Street Level'. The staff in multiple areas was totally inhospitable - and perhaps not properly trained. The Fred Harvey hospitality - was definitely not experienced during our entire stay."
"No parking anywhere!! Driving in circle trying to find a parking spot for almost 20 minutes! No staff at Thunderbird Lodge at all. You have to check two hotels over. Then all of the roads are one way you have to go around the huge loop to get back to Thunderbird after you’ve checked in.no signs to rooms. Tv didn’t work. Horrible experience"
"We stayed for 3 nights celebrating my birthday and our wedding anniversary. Our lodge was absolutely perfect, we actually wish we’d booked to stay longer! The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. The shuttle bus to the village and Hermits Rest are only 5 minutes away, and having the Bright Angel Trail on our doorstep was truly awesome! We ate breakfast at Harvey House cafe which served huge portions and great coffee. We can’t recommend Bright Angel Lodges enough we loved it!"
