The room was clean, properly equipped and given it's above a busy pub and in a very old building, it was warm and reasonably quiet. Nice meal in the restaurant in the evening. Good wine, food and setvice.

Unique old hotel . Bathroom very small for a deluxe room , only a double bed which we thought was odd for a deluxe room . Nice toiletries and tea/coffee available. Bedding good quality. The bedroom was a wonderful, quirky room; spotlessly clean with the worlds most comfortable bed and pillows. We had a great couple of nights sleep in this quiet room. Although my preference is a shower the bathroom had a large corner bath which was good. The only slight downside was the rather noisy macerator fitted on the wastewater. The breakfast choice was excellent. The food was freshly made and very tasty. We had an evening meal one night which was also excellent. The presentation and service for all the meals was perfect. The bar had a jolly atmosphere with a fine range of local ales and wines. It was attended by a mixture of local people and visitors. There is a limited range of free on-site parking which I was lucky enough to take advantage of. I would gladly stay here next time I'm in the area and I'd recommend The Woolpack to anyone looking for a good value and comfortable place to stay.
