"A beautiful place—our only regret was not staying longer! Pavi went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. When we checked in, he asked if we had dinner plans. Ein paar Kleinigkeiten: die Bettdecke im Einzelbett war zu groß, das ließ sich nicht gut schlafen. Zudem waren die scharfen Messer leider nicht mehr scharf. Und eine Kaffeemaschine für Pads macht ohne einen Grundvorrat an Pads wenig Sinn."

"We were given an upgrade at no extra cost, to a very spacious and comfortable room. The bed was very comfortable, and it was very quiet, with no light coming in at night. We had a wonderful sleep, and used the kitchen facilities in the room, which were perfectly adequate for our needs. Unfortunately the internet crashed the second night we were there, so no TV, but we were tired so it didn't matter. We would stay again, very happy with our visit"

"I had to cancel two nights but didn't get a refund. I booked in November 2025 so they had my money for five months. Will never stay with Stayz or Bachcare ever again."

"At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail).
