"We’ve previously stayed at the Grandeur Thermal Spa Resort in a Chalet room and it was great! This time we booked a studio room and it was disappointing to what we had stayed in previously. It had everything you need in a studio room. But it was “run down” or “tired” compared to previously. The bathroom in particular was in need of some TLC. Overall it was a place to sleep, and it worked for what we needed for one night."

"It's not expensive, so don't expect 5 start... but it also doesn't have a reception open in until well after lunch. Which isn't helpful if you do something silly like us and leave a key in the room and can't get back in. The rooms are tired and the place needs a bit of renovation work. TV works but doesn't connect to internet (no netflix, even though it's an option) and it sits on an old TV cabinet designed for a 90's tv. If you just need a night, in a clean functional room and don't care...

"Loved our stay at the Lakeland Resort. Our room was clean and cozy. The spa was nice and private. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back next time we visit Taupo."
