Hotel La Fonda Taos
8/10 Good
"The property is dated (it is old/historic!), but the common areas and room were clean. The coffee shop was small but nice and had good coffee/lattes. The woman working the front desk when we checked in and most of the two nights we stayed was nice and helpful. We declined housekeeping and really did not see others working there, so unable to comment on other staff. The AC did not work well so the room was warm. There were fans but it was not enough to cool the rooms to comfortable sleeping temp. Parking ($10/night) was convenient and we had no issues, but we did worry a bit about security of parking area and “openness” of the hotel lobby because there were people that were not guests that were hanging around behind the hotel near the parking lot. There are restaurants and shopping right outside the hotel and within walking distance, but several that were recommended required short drives. All in all we were happy with our stay, but if we come back to Taos we will choose to stay outside of Taos downtown."

"The carpet in the room is stained and dirty and needs to be cleaned. The Handicap lever at exterior entry to the hotel does not work. It was reported to front desk; they were aware and had not fixed yet. A lobby Handicapped bathroom door does not open easily and sticks. Also reported that to front desk."

"The Old Taos Guesthouse is such a gem. The property is a little outside Taos in a very peaceful setting. The property and the rooms are beautiful and exude character. Coffee and tea are available 24/7. They serve an amazing breakfast, with everything homemade. It was the best quiche I’ve ever had. We enjoyed lounging on the property in the evening and listening to the birds. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we return to Taos."

"We found the Quality Inn to a very nice hotel, with ample parking. Room was clean and comfortable. The room did lack electrical outlets to support the charging of our business equipment. Breakfast was very good and enabled us to save money. Overall, the stay was satisfactory for our needs and we plan to make new arrangements once we know the specific date for our 2027 business event."

"Nicolas and Anna were great hosts. Nicolas is a trained chef so the breakfasts were fantastic. Hot tub is great. Nice location to look out at mountains. Very quiet. Strong recommendation!!"
