I felt very secure in the City w all the access cards you had to use. Very nice hotel, just in some spots looks a little old in our bathroom. Front desk staff could be a little friendlier but wasn't rude or anything. I booked this hotel because of the airport shuttle but ended up not needing it.

I stayed 6 nights at this hotel. Every morning at 8:00 am, the breakfast area had the food trays empty. We had to wait for the lady to bring scramble eggs, chilaquiles or any other thing. The juice and milk container's were almost empty. The food was delicious, the problem was the waiting.

So I stayed at both Hampton inns in Tampico, and both were excellent. Zona Dorado was smaller and more intimate and only lacked a pool, a hot tub, and a dinner buffet, which the Hampton by the airport did have. However it was early November and the pool was a little cold, the hot tub was out of service and the dinner buffet, was excellent for 129 pesos per person. We liked Zona Dorado more (location & price).

The stay at this property was amazing. Staff was always professional. The cleanliness of the room was on point and the WIFI has to be the fastest WiFi I’ve ever used at any hotel in Mexico. The building is next to the main road however you can’t hear the cars at all. If I had to stay in Tampico again I would definitely choose this hotel

Hotel staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful, 5 stars for them! The hotel itself is another story. The gym has three treadmills, all broken, and a I believe the first universal weight set ever invented, cement weights and all. Front rooms oversee the main road, and traffic is loud and can be heard all hours of the night, including car alarms, honking, and just driving by. Light sleepers will be tossing and turning with the racket.

Heater problems
It was really good Hotel up until it got cold & room had no heat. My wife asked about heater and was only told no heater working. So, we slept one night & part of a day when I asked, why is there no heat and then was explained that some had and others didn't due to system change over. Ours did not. I was told they could move us to a heated room and so we moved. I'm not sure why we were not told that to begin with. I came back to U.S. with a slight cold. Otherwise the hotel is a good spot and we will stay there again but, make sure there is heat next time.

Awesome comfort!
Overall it was good.The only thing that I didn't like was that there was a humidity smell that was not pleasant but using bleach would get rid of that smell.

One of the best Hamptons I have been at
Check in was a breeze by a very kind receptionist, offering honest answers to a couple of questions I made regarding the area and places to have dinner. Room was nice, quiet room with helpful personnel, asked them for more towels and they were delivered immediately. Check out was quick, no more than 20 seconds and I was ready to go.
