The Carrington is a beautiful old hotel that has seen better days. It is getting worn out. You have to battle the lift to get on it, the floors and stairs creak ominously. We booked dinner reservations for their lovely dining room but they were not necessary-only 6 other people were seated/eating while we were there. The location may have something to do with this. It is my understanding that Katoomba was once a lovely town, but it also has seen better days. My suggestion is to stay and visit nearby Laura.

Great stay at the Currington Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Carrington - beautiful and spotlessly cleaned room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant - delicious food and fantastic service. Thank you.

Great/grand restored old (1880) hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Many of the businesses around are run down, but the scenery is wonderful! Get tickets for the hop on hop off bus at the hotel desk. The bus guide is great, with many recommended activities at most of the stops.

A Unique Experience in a Historic Gem

The historic building and elegant interior left a strong impression. The staff were incredibly kind, and the complimentary breakfast was delightful. While there were a few inconveniences due to the building’s age, the unique experience it offered made it all worthwhile. I was very pleased with my stay.
