Good location. Nice pub. Room was old & dirty. We was a family with very young children and was allocated a room on top of an events room with loud music until 1am. We never slept. Very awful stay.

Upon arrival, the staff were very helpful. The room allocated was on the second floor. Very spacious and clean room. The bathroom was fantastic, very clean and bright. Both bathroom and the bedroom were well heated. We slept so well. The shower water pressure was not great. The hotel is very nice. The rooms need updating, and could do with some maintenance such as walls abd ceilings.I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would come back again.

This hotel is in an excellent position to the town. The staff were efficient and friendly and the breakfast was the best we've had in a hotel for a long time. Unfortunately the hotel is is need of an update. We had the first room (51) on the ground floor. This backed onto a courtyard outside the kitchen. It was noisy and there was a "hume" from some kind of machinery that kept kicking in. The heating was not on in the evening, despite it being only 2 degrees outside. For the sake of convenience, we would stay again.

Anniversary stay

George Hotel was a lovely old hotel and as a lot of old hotels has no air conditioning. Our stay was during a heatwave but they did provide a fan in the room which was much appreciated. The staff were very lovely and very helpful. The food in restaurant was really good.

This hotel needs a lot of T.L.C looks like money has not been spent for a couple of decades on the room & stair cases. The dining area was clean & enjoyable.

Hotel is a bit tired looking . Staff Friendly. Would have liked a quieter room as requested as next to a heavy door which with people using kept banging . Otherwise room was fine

We would stay again!

We had a fantastic huge room and bed with a large ensuite bathroom equipped with bath and double shower. The building is old so sloping floors etc expected, its like an aladdins cave, but we were happy with food, breakfast was a great portion and lots of choice. We had dinner too and a good price for what we had. All the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Good location and ease of parking. Good food and pleasant bar and lounge area. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in need of some general updating and refurbishment, but the room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We would happily choose to stay here again.
