"My boys (4&8) absolutely LOVED it here. There were trails galore, we got to pet a baby raccoon and a nice local cat. We saw basilisk lizards run across water, monkeys in the trees, anoles, bullfrogs, iguanas! Short driver to Playa Biesanz and Playa Manual Antonio! The staff is super sweet and helpful! For the amount of openness and bugs, they did a great job keeping the place clean! They’re also working on the property for the upkeep which is nice to see! They take pride in their hotel. Highly recommend! The views are breathtaking! My only regret is not going up to snag a view of a sunset during our 3 night stay! Super safe traveling as a single momma with 2 young boys!"

The staff was beyond helpful and genuinely attentive, rivaling what you would expect at some of the finest hotels in the world. Candy and Alfredo went above and beyond in assisting with our private plane arrangements and ensured that every aspect of our stay was seamless and perfectly coordinated within the resort. Alexander, who took care of us in the pool area, made an already incredible experience unforgettable. His attentiveness and care were unmatched, and he truly spoiled us while we enjoyed some of the most magical sunsets I have ever seen. I rarely take the time to write reviews, as I generally expect excellence from the places I choose to stay. However, Makanda exceeded those expectations in every way, and it absolutely deserves recognition. This is a destination I would return to without hesitation."
