We had a great stay in Maroochydore. Chateau Royale is in a great location, close to the beach, cotton tree area and restaurants.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Close to beach, great views over the sea and Maroochy River. Good range of shops nearby. Apartments are well appointed with good kitchen facilities if you wish to self cater. We look forward to our next holiday.

The pictures you see online do not show how this place actually looks. Pretty old inside and difficult to get around. Reception closes before check in so you have to call and open a random safe to get your keys. They give you a piece of paper to try to figure out how to get around the hotel. Only way to find your room is through lettering posted in the elevator and those actually broke the day we were there. Rooms were average, area is a bit older and very inconvenient way of checking in.

Unfortunatly during my two day stay it rained most of the time so was unable to take advantage of the facilities on offer.
Wonderful place to stay with kids 10/10 from us. Clean and tidy, staff not intrusive at all, excellent kitchen and bathrooms. Kids loved the pool and spa
I checked in after hours which was fine. The reception is only open from 8.30am - 4pm and I was visiting for work so didn't get to the reception for a couple of days. At 11.30pm one night the evacuation alarm went off which was annoying as I needed to get up early the next day. I understand though that it was probably not the hotels fault. I was on the 1st floor so didn't really have any view. The location was good being near the beach, surf club and other coffee shops. Not a huge amount of restaurants to choose from but the Thai Mango restaurant was good. The pool and BBQ area were kept very clean.
We have always like staying at Chateau Royale. Its a good facility in a great location.
But the room we had this time was a bit disappointing (3rd floor) It was very dated and in need of a make over. Things like the kitchen tap loose and swivelling around and the dishwasher while it worked was older than me. We have a 3 year old dishwasher just out of warranty that doesn't work so I can understand keeping one that works. Could use an update of kitchen utensils also as trying to cook bacon and eggs for six with one old warped cheap aluminium frypan was a real chore, something you do camping not in a nice hotel.
The worst part of our stay this time was sitting on the lounge when we arrived to find it covered in beach sand!!
Enjoyed our stay very much as we were both in need of some " down time" and walked and swam at the beach every day . Did enjoy having a pool that caught the sun all day and was very clean.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Did not want to leave.
Free wifi great, but only for 24 hours. Then costs $2.00 for each 24 hour period. Close to Cotton Tree shopping area with plenty of restaurants close but.
Would recommend staying at this property and would stay here again.
