"Really great location and easy check in and out but the room was SO hot we couldn’t sleep, there was a fan but it didn’t do much. Our windows also opened into the balcony which didn’t feel very private "

"Staff were very polite and friendly. Very clean and good location. Bed was very comfy and room had plenty of space. But…… decor, breakfast, exterior, road, games room all awful. No imagination or inspiration. Doesn’t need money just some thought and energy. Won’t stay again would rather pay £25 more for better quality. Worst of all our room absolutely stank weed and it certainly wasn’t us!!"

"Bed was soft and mattress tilting me floorward. Shower tray was blocked, cutting short my shower. The bathroom sink was the size of a dentist's spit basin making it impossible to shave. Lights in the communal corridor didn't switch on with any of the switches so be sure to have a torch with you to safely stay this hotel. No bedside table or power socket anywhere near the bedside. I wouldn't stay here again."

"The lodge was quite good in terms of cleanliness,environment,and amenities in the room was good.The staff{Amand)was quite good,respectful and always attended to my needs.My only concerns during my three days stay was the type of people that stays in the hotel.In my second night stay,i had some policemen knocking furiously on the door next to me.This was exactly 03.15am.I couldnt get back to sleep after all the noise and shouting. On my last day,just about 05,55,the fire alarm went off.Apparently...

"The parking was good, well lit and off road. The place was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good and hearty. There was no aircon but a good fan. The room was warm as it was cold outside. And it was value for money."

"The Talbot Hotel is a very quaint hotel. It’s location in Oundle is ideal and central. The courtyard is a great place to soak up the sun with a cold beverage. Dorotha and Aaron were a pleasure to deal with, as were all staff. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location."

"Lovely Breakfast included. Owner was very attentive and made you feel very welcome. Only downside was that the shower head would not stay up and was held up by blue tack. Room was cold, but staff quickly sorted this. Food was great. The pub is very pretty!"

"The property could use an upgrade- especially the bathrooms. Rooms were very small. The best part of our stay were the front of house staff who were excellent - they went out of their way to be helpful and were very friendly. In the mornings - they seemed to be understaffed - the front desk were required to help with the breakfast. The cleaning staff were new (?) and only made beds and picked up towels - did not clean the bathrooms and missed one day completely."

"Wow what a fabulous find this hotel was. From the moment we walked through the door we were met by a friendly receptionist who showed us around. We had a garden patio room and it was gorgeous. Our evening meal was divine, I had Stonebass and my husband had Tomahawk Pork. Breakfast was outstanding, the best my husband says he has ever had! We will be returning."
