So i hate leaving bad reviews. I know how it can hurt business as i own 3 businesses of my own. I have stayed here twice before. Both times were great! Once in 2012 and once in 2017.
The first thing that i noticed when we arrived this time was the shrubs, small trees, flower beds in the front were not maintained. The lamp post was leaning to the side. (I thought well maybe maintenance hasn't had a chance to fix it yet) i walk into the lobby, they have a video gambling machine in there that was not there last time. I walk up to the counter to check in and the young gentleman could not speak very good english or at least it was difficult for me to understand him. I ask him if the property had been purchased 5 or 6 years ago and he said yes. I would have not ask that if things didn't look so run down.
Our room was on the 2nd floor. The air does not work in the stairwell. The ice maker and another video gambling machine heats the space to well over 80 degrees. Im guessing the owners live on the bottom floor because everytime you walk into the stairwell, you smell this really strong nonpleasant cooking smell! As far as the room, it just needed a thorough cleaning! The mounts for a towel rack are still on the wall in the bathroom with no rack on them. The floor and baseboards hadn't been wiped in months in the bathroom. The carpet in the bedroom needed cleaning. Some things here and there could get this property back to the charm that it used to be. I hope the owners take note!
