"Everything was good, but there's no card access for the vending machines or laundry use, and the beds were uncomfortable. Other than that we enjoyed our stay"
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our family of five stayed in the Mammoth Cabin and absolutely loved our time at Black Elk Resort!
The property is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and incredibly family-friendly. Our kids made so many friends during our stay, and the playground was a huge hit. There was plenty for families to enjoy, including ring toss, propane grills, lots of outdoor seating, and nightly campfires for roasting s'mores.
The cabin was spotless, well-maintained, and the beds were some of the most comfortable we've slept on while traveling.
The complimentary coffee and waffles each morning were an absolute lifesaver before heading out for a day of adventures.
The owners and staff were kind, welcoming, and clearly take pride in creating a great experience. We also loved the on-site taproom. It was the perfect place to grab a beer, glass of wine, or pizza when we wanted a relaxing evening close to our cabin.
The location was incredibly convenient for exploring everything the Black Hills has to offer while still feeling peaceful and tucked away.
Black Elk Resort struck the perfect balance between comfort, cleanliness, and family fun. We had a fantastic stay and are already talking about coming back with friends. Highly recommend! ❤️🏕️🔥🧇☕🍕🍻"
"We had a wonderful stay at this lodge! It was absolutely adorable, exceptionally clean, and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality and welcoming nature.
They went above and beyond by sharing great recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and things to do in the area, which made our trip even more enjoyable. One of the nicest surprises was the fresh coffee and delicious donuts each morning—a thoughtful touch that was so appreciated and started our days perfectly.
If you’re looking for a cozy, spotless place to stay with outstanding hosts who truly care about their guests, we highly recommend this lodge. We would happily stay here again!"
"Our room was clean and had a picture of Mount Rushmore on the wall. We stayed 2 nights and they replenished the towels the next day. We used the breakfast and the hot tub. Both were in older areas of the building but served the purpose. The gentleman that checked us in at 10pm was efficient and amenable. He was helpful when I called to let him know we would be checking in late. He had an issue with the credit card machine and he proceeded to handle it without becoming frustrated. It was a great location for what we wanted to do in the Blacks Hills and there is a cute coffee shop up the block that we enjoyed each morning (Elizabeth's). I would stay here again."
"The entire stay from start to finish was perfect and staff is some of the nicest people I've ever met !!! This spot is perfect for so many great rides in the Black Hills and will definitely stay here again
The fresh made bread and bagels you can purchase are AMAZING !!"
