"We were welcomed by Steve and Heidi when we arrived and shown to our room which was very clean and well laid out. Breakfast was superb, quality food and well cooked. The staff were very friendly. Parking was easy and on site. The Bedroom and Bathroom could benefit from a shelf to put toiletries on. We would definitely recommend Hills Farm and we will definitely return too. Situated just off the high street with secure on site parking, and within walking distance of various eating establishments. "Excellent cosy and clean room. Very nice bed, good small coffie machine in room. Very nice pleasant smelling cosmetics in bathroom. We had really relaxing stay. Breakfast- a bit basic, full English, cooked buffet, plus cerals selection. Basic but really good and tasty. Breathtaking view from 8th floor bar/restaurant where the breakfast is served."

"The Royal Lion Hotel is a nice place to stay. It is in a very good position to explore Lyme Regis from. The staff are very nice and helpful and friendly. The food was good for me as I have some food intolerances and I could always find something tasty to eat. I hope they light the fires in the bar soon as it is getting chilly and a fire is so comforting. We had a very nice room with access to a garden and seating. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept well. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water as well. I also like the traditional rooms on the upper floors as they are more in keeping with the age of the building. I hope the Royal Lion is not modernised too much. We want to stay there because of the Tradition of the building, the décor including furniture and the comfort. Please don't modernise too much. We will be back."

But to see a cat led flat out on top of dining table, with no one attempting to move it, until diners arrived to unwiped table(cat bed)?Relocated for meal to bar area."

"Beautiful looking old hotel with picturesque scenery especially the river Room was lovely size, bed comfy, hot shower Could do with tidying up the patio/garden area and the net curtain needs replacing. Wiping off muddy or coffee marks off the walls in the bedroom. TV needs tuning very difficult to source a channel. I did raise this issue but was told its always been that way! Staff were super friendly, the evening meal was beautiful. Great waitress service"

"A little dated and basic, but was very pleasantly surprised! Enjoyed my spontaneous night here with the dog, staff very kind and helpful. Big cups in the room, with nice biscuits and Yorkshire tea! Very affordable too for the night, would very happily return - given at a services, I didn’t hear the motorway at all! I stayed for convenience, not a ‘need’ and personally for £37 a night, I’d happily go back again!"
