"The location of this hotel is unbeatable, and our family room had a stunning view of Edinburgh Castle. A special thanks to Ethan and the friendly team for making us feel so welcome. There is no a/c in the room, but with the fan and an open window, it wasn't an issue at all given the Scottish climate. We skipped breakfast but had a nice dinner at the Metro restaurant, where the service was also great. Our kids really enjoyed the nice pool area after a long day of sightseeing."

Which was very important to me because I wasn’t feeling well a couple of days. The room was clean and welcoming. All amenities were perfect. Would recommend to anyone willing to listen!"

"This hotel is in a GREAT location. It is only a 5-15 minute walk to most of the touristy Royal Mile things. There is a Sainsbury's and a Costa Coffee right next door. And a bus stop right outside the doors (although we walked everywhere). The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. We weren't in the room much, except to sleep, and it was perfect for that."

"The staff went above and beyond!!! The room was very clean. We ordered a burger one night, another night the charcuterie board..EXCELLENT!!! Both recommended by the staff. Then our bartender made us fabulous drinks to include a stamped 1816 cube for my whiskey. Beautiful craftsmanship in his drinks. We have stayed in 6 hotels in Scotland, this was by far the best 4 day stay thus far!!! Thank you Apex staff for everything!!! Ohhh and Location, just outside is multiple bus routes and the train terminal is a block away."

"The best thing about this hotel is its location. Easy walking distance to everything in Old and New Town Edinburgh. Very Clean, room and bathroom are small but comfortable. The only downside for us was that there are stairs up to reception and the entrance that has no stairs is locked from the outside. We are both in our mid-sixties and lugging our large suitcases upstairs was uncomfortable and there was no offer of help from the staff. The price is a bit high, but the location can't be beat. It is also walking distance to the airport shuttle bus."
