My husband requested pancakes which were on the menu for an additional £2.50, so we were expecting a spectacular stack as a result; what he got was a couple of shop bought small pancakes to go with a very dry sausage and one rasher of bacon. "I stayed overnight at The Grand York recently and had a lovely experience. I had a late check-in and Nigel (the porter) arranged a table at a lovely restaurant nearby for me. The room was extremely nice (there was one minor issue which I raised with staff the next day, but wasn’t anything major that it detracted from my stay). "This hotel & Spa is absolutely amazing, the staff were so attentive to our needs, I had booked this hotel for a treat for my family which they so enjoyed, the grounds are beautiful and the food is cooked from the best quality, yes, the spa is not huge when you compare this to other spa facilities but this gives this hotel spa the advantage of giving you space to enjoy the spa experience, would I travel to this hotel again, most definitely, worth every penny."
