"I would not recommend this hotel. The view is amazing if you get a bridge view room HOWEVER for the price this hotel is kind of run down. We checked in at 430 and was told our room wasn’t ready. The staff member checking us in was super sweet and understanding however when we got to our room 45 mins later it seemed it had been cleaned in haste. The floor was FILTHY I’m talking chunks of stuff on the floor , splattered make up on the wall and there was pooling water on the surfaces, mold on the pillows, not enough towels and no shampoo. There also was noisy construction in the lobby and around the hotel that I think will be around for a while. Previous hotels I’ve stayed at warn you about that. Overall it was lacklustre for the price and I was extremely disappointed. Save your money and stay elsewhere."

"This was my second stay at Tavistock Hotel. Both times I stayed for about 7 nights. The double rooms are a good size, the bed is medium-firm and comfortable, and everything is very clean. The hotel is older and rooms can smell musty. But I was happy with my stay overall. Staff are very kind with early check-in. It's also convenient to stay in the area. If I am back in London again, I would easily choose Tavistock again! A comfortable mattress is not always a given with affordable London hotels!"

"I was attending an event which finished late, and I didn't want to travel home alone. So I looked for somewhere close by to stay which didn't break the bank. The Strand Palace Hotel offers single-bed rooms that come with a luxury shower room stocked with Rituals products, large wardrobe, table & chair, a desk and huge TV. Plus free wifi, bottle of water and bar of chocolate... and all for £110. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel room was quiet & comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again. "

"Didn’t get off to the best start. A mediocre welcome on arrival, and while other guests in the queue were being offered welcome drinks, we weren’t offered anything. We also encountered a fairly rude receptionist when asking for a plaster for a cut. We were told, “we don’t have any plasters here”. When I asked the concierge instead, he immediately checked we were okay and brought out a first aid kit.. a completely different level of care. Avoid room 722. There was loud bass from the club next door until 3am, and the secondary glazing doesn’t close properly. We raised the issue the following morning, but the receptionist didn’t seem concerned. The air conditioning also wouldn’t turn off, we had to phone reception around 12:30am to get it switched off remotely. At £280 for the night, this was very disappointing and put a downer on our 1st wedding anniversary celebrations. On a positive note, the hotel is visually pleasant, with nice décor and a well‑designed room. The concierge was extremely helpful and without him, this rating would be lower."

"The room and hotel overall was very clean and modern , we had a room with no window which was fine but the AC wouldn’t work properly and I went down to reception twice about it and both times were promised someone would go look at it which wasn’t done as the room has no windows and it was so small it got very warm and uncomfortable The bathroom door didn’t close properly and was extremely see through so there was no privacy when going to the toilet and the television signal was awful If these few minor things weren’t a thing then I’d love to stay in Z hotel again "
