"Great central location with comfortable rooms!"

"The Leonardo EMA is a well placed hotel, however we found the decor and general demeanour of the hotel to be very tired. No lifts that we could see. Our room was nice enough, but had only been superficially cleaned. The mirror had not been cleaned. Bed was very comfy though. Bathroom showed signs of wear with the odd little bit of black mould and other areas that could have been better scrubbed. I found a rusty screw by the base of the toilet. "I’m loathed to give a bad review, but we stayed during hot weather and the room was unbearable, at least 35C for the whole night. The top of the sash window was painted shut and the bottom only opened 2inches because of the safety latch. It’s a shame because the pub was nice, lovely old building, easy parking, the bar was good and the staff were great. "The property is very modern, wellmaintained and the staff are helpful. It is in a convenient location close to the train station and a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town centre. There is also a bus service from the train station. The area is quiet. There is a good buffet breakfast."

"No air conditioner in room. Just a desk fan, on days where it was in the mid 20s outside. No lift to upper floor, just a spiral staircase! No working extractor fan in bathroom. You are lead to believe it's free parking only to be charged £5 a night as soon as you check in ! The mattress was very firm as well."

"Hotel was good overall well located for access to Derby center. The hotel car park is very small so thankfully you have the option of a multistory across the road which if you get the hotel to check you ticket is very cheap to use. Breakfast was buffet style and not too bad."

"Booked as we had an early flight from East Midlands airport. Owner met us soon after we arrived. Nice room, great comfy bed, very good shower. Advised there was a good restaurant just down the road (15 min walk) which we visited and had a very tasty meal. Left in the morning too early for breakfast, but not host’s fault. Very good nights sleep. Plenty of parking. Road to airport a bit narrow and windy, but we made it in plenty of time. Would recommend."

Negatives: Tiny tv English Bfast poor quality ingredients 10.30am booking out not acceptable ..particularly when paying £493 for 3 nights & then having to pay an extra £25 to book out at 12.
