"This Race Course branch of the Chain does everything it says on the tin. Helpful staff, clean rooms, great breakfast choice. Having to fork out for parking is unwelcoming. Outside of race days whats the point.... a few miles down the road the member of the chain doesn't charge. So I go there next time. Otherwise no beefs."

"Was clean but very dated dull and drab furnishing, windows need net curtains or similar in the rooms that over look canal,436, as rooms opposite can see directly into your room if you don’t have curtains drawn which makes the room dark and the need for lights is not ideal, bathroom very old sanitary ware, toilet didn’t flush very well and took for ever to refill, cracked floor tiles, poor soap dispenser, really needs an update, overpriced. Hot breakfast was ok , no fresh fruit poor selection...

We booked a room with a 4 poster bed then on arrival were told we had a free upgrade to a 4 poster room.... Strange seeing as that's what we requested anyway. Room was at best ok. The bed was pretty wobbly. Ceiling in the room was a false ceiling of tiles like you would find in an office and there have clearly been several leaks coming through from...

"Room was nice enough but not practical ..... lighting was poor, there were no bedside cabinets, there was no dressing table, there was one easy chair and one stool (it was a double room so why not two chairs) bath/shower not guest friendly, the bath plug/drain did not drain properly which resulted in my having to stand in very hot scalding water for my shower and getting bright red feet as a result, there was no toilet brush either which is a basic hygiene matter. "Upon checking in I checked that it was a twin room or the beds could be split as requested. The request had not been received but the staff were accommodating and changed our room for us without any problem, they were kind and considerate and gave us a large 3 sleeper room. "Entering the property you have high hopes, reception is lovely as is the staircase. rooms are not as in the photos. stain on ceiling. looked out onto a very grotty back building. It is a reasonable hotel for workers/business men but would not recommend for a couples weekend break"
