"The rooms were very clean. The bed was very hard so if you like a soft bed this won’t do. The breakfast on both mornings were very poor burnt toast served with over cooked bacon. "This was the culmination of a self-promise made 11 years ago. Then, we had afternoon tea on the patio, but can’t remember how we discovered Portloe. We said we should stay here if we ever visit Cornwall again. Fast forward to now; an unexpected opportunity to re-visit Cornwall. And it came to pass. "The property suited our needs being ideally situated, and providing comfortable accommodation. The pub had a good atmosphere with reasonably priced food., and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, during our stay housekeeping was haphazard. We had to ask for clean towels and the bed wad only ever made up once during a seven night stay. Although not connected with the accommodation, it was disappointing that the Boatyard cafe did not open early enough to provide us with breakfast. During...
