The tub flooded with sewer water and the whole room smelt. We had to get our momey back for that night due to the fact that we could not sleep the night there due to the smell. The location was the only good thing about the place. They tried to fix the smell but all i could smell was the stink and not any cleaning product which i have a feeling they didnt use. They owner was going to be there the next say but we got headaches and disgusted by the smell. We left. Just to let you all know as well they will sell your parking spot to your room for night of lights in St. Augustine. Which i undersrand for extra money but we had to park on the side of the building due to our usual spot was taken. Lastly i want to add is that the fire alarm was detached from the wall some and had no batteries inside of it. I have photos of it all.
This is the nasty water that came up from the tub. It smelt like sewer water and made the tube gross. The room next door was overly flooded. But I couldn't take a photo. The housekeeper told us there was a problem next door.
We had to cover it from people's view from us.
No battery in the fire alarm.
Hair in the towel that was there when we arrived.

The check in process was very easy, the staff was very nice. Very friendly, the location was perfect. The overall cleanliness was good and the beds were very comfortable. I would stay again.

In the morning, we found black water coming up from the shower drain all over the bathroom floor. There was no one in the office. We reported the situation to the person who answered the phone at 6:42am and have not received a response as of 4 days later. We left very quickly without use of the facilities.

TERRIBLE!! This is NOT a safe place for families to stay out. My room smelled like mold , roaches in the bathroom and our bed sheets was dirty and bed was not bad. Not a clean environment

The worst place I’ve ever stayed. We booked another hotel and left immediately. I didn’t think a hotel could be this disgusting—stained sheets with dog paw prints, filthy doors, walls, and even the ceiling. To top it off, a small plant was literally growing out of the sink drain. Absolutely awful!

The guys at the front desk was super nice but the hotel itself was not at all what the pictures show. We had to ask for a refrigerator to be put in the room as well as a working microwave. The sheets had blood stains and other stains on them as did the towels and pillows. Only 1 light in the room worked the bathroom door didn’t close and there was no hot water. The rooms definitely were not at all what the pictures posted showed and not at all worth the money spent on the room.

O start!!! I regret trusting Expedia. Castillo Inn is not what Expedia shows in the photos. A poor quality hotel, room filthy and in disrepair, dirty sheets, and walls in bad condition. I had to buy pillows, sheets, towels, I had to buy disinfectant cleaner because it was so disgusting. I came to the room at 9:30 pm, at 11:00 pm just one hour and half later, I had to leave the room because it had an unpleasant smell and I started with a bad allergy. I called the person in charge to tell them how dirty the room was and how bad it smelled and their response was "leave the key inside the room." They didn't even apologize for the poor service and bad condition of the room.

The property was absolutely disgusting. Sheets weee stained and smelled foul i had to go buy bed sheets and pillow cases and a blanket. I dripped some water and got a white towel to pock it up and it came off black this place looks like it has not been cleaned in years. Called 20 times no one picked up. My check in was delayed for 40 minutes i was standing outside the door and for check out i left the keys and took video of me knocking on the door for 20 minutes and no one answered another guest had finally gotten tired after 40 minutes and left without checking out and just left room key by the door. This place is absolutely disgusting and even the shower was moldy with pink mold . I do not recommend this place to anyone and i will NOT EVER come back!

Got to room about midnight after a long drive and room wasn’t cleaned. Also the room was in in bad shape and had the feeling of not wanting to touch anything. Also sketchy people were hanging around the outside of the motel.

Pros: parking, proximity to the DT area, cold A/C, Mike was really nice and helpful, and we only saw one bug. Cons: dirty - toilet wasn’t clean (pee splatter up the back of toilet seat), cigarette burns on duvet, stained towels and sheets, dirty and unswept floors, tape over broken window, and we woke up to a puddle of water on the ground that was seeping out of the closet. We sort of knew what we were getting into before booking the hotel due to poor reviews. We brought our own blankets, towels, pillowcases, and sheets thankfully and I would highly recommend doing this as well. Consider it a glamping or bare bones air BNB sort of experience. The toilet worked, the shower worked, but everything was kind of gross. Overall impression: Because of the excellent price and location, we MIGHT book this place again but only if we could clean it ourselves beforehand.
