This B&B is delightful and located in the heart of the historic area of Jacksonville. The food was superb as was the ambiance! Definitely recommend!

The owners were very welcoming and sweet. The place was charming and cozy. They serve you breakfast, which is tailored to what you like and so delicious! There’s only 2 suites, so you feel at home.

exceptional!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night, and I have to say it was exceptional! The property is gorgeous and the service is outstanding. The breakfast was really good too. We will definitely be staying here again when we're back in town.

Definitely an adorable, quiet, boutique option if you’re in the area. 100% felt safe during my stay, & felt as if I was part of their family, yet appropriately provided me with enough privacy. Travelers, this property is an excellent stay!

Great Getaway!

My husband and I felt welcome the minute we walked through the door. Gwenn and Glen are fantastic people. They were able to accommodate our food allergies with no problem. Gwenn made our dinner reservation for us and set up a house tour. This is a beautiful place. The town is also quite beautiful and historic. I would stay here again.

First Bed and Breakfast Experience. Blessings Won Me Over

The home is beautiful and the breakfast was fancy and delicious. I felt like I was in the Victorian era and I loved every interaction I had with staff. I'd recommend it to anyone and I'd love to go back soon!

Outstanding Visit

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The innkeepers are so friendly & welcoming. They made sure I was comfortable & enjoying my stay to the fullest! I received a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning. The suites are so cozy & relaxing. They each have private bathrooms & private sitting rooms perfect for reading a book or enjoying the beautiful views. I cannot wait until my next visit!

Best Birthday Getaway!!

Owners are sweethearts!The whole house is beautiful, especially with the Christmas decorations! They are very accommodating and understanding! It truly makes you feel like you're at home. The breakfast and snack bar are awesome, by the way!They may also do something special for your birthday or anniversary.I was surprised with a mini birthday cake!! So sweet! Love- The Forty's

A Blessed Anniversary

We spent our Anniversary at Blessings and it was WONDERFUL!! Gwenn and Glen could not have been more accomodating. My husband had recently had surgery and they actually stocked the fridge with protein drinks he was allowed to have. It was so very thoughtful! Thank you, Friends!

Great B&B!

We've stayed at many B&B's and this one has everything, beautiful room, great bath, nice sitting area, lovely common areas, delicious breakfast, gracious hosts, late night snacks and early morning coffee or tea. Beautiful historic neighborhood for walking or jogging. Spacious porch and yard for sitting and reading or relaxing. Highly recommended!

The owner Gwen was very pleasant. Also her daughter Val. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The food was delicious -- wish the calories were gone!

Beautiful Setting!

The house was beautiful, surrounded by flowers and large trees. I loved sitting on the porch watching robins in the birdbath. Breakfast was lovely. I felt like both an honored guest and part of the family. Gwen was awesome!! She really went the extra mile to be accommodating and hospitable. I highly recommend staying here!!!

Great, homey B & B in Jacksonville, IL. Flexible, friendly hosts made us feel welcome and pampered. Special touches included homemade cookies waiting when we arrived, fun tour from Valerie, and amazing fresh breakfast. Treat yourself and stay here for a unique, small-town retreat.

A Perfect Stay

We felt like family the minute we walked in the door. Gwenn was extremely friendly and hospitable. She made dinner reservations for us each night and when we entered the restaurants, we were called by name. The food at the B&B was superb - served on china at a window table overlooking a garden. Rooms were very large and comfortable. We've stayed at a lot of B&B's, but this one has got to be the best! We truly hated to leave.

Welcoming, relaxing getaway

My husband and I have stayed at Blessings twice, and will never look anywhere else when we visit Jacksonville. Every detail of the home is lovely, the innkeeper and her family are so genuinely welcoming, and the breakfast is the best anywhere. Blessings is right in the middle of the beautiful historic district. Gwenn has done an amazing job of outfitting the inn, there are little snacks and drinks, comfy chairs, stuff to read. It is a very relaxing place to hang out in between whatever activities took you to Jacksonville.

A Perfect Place to Stay

I've stayed here many times and it keeps getting better! My Tranquility Suite is roomy and beautiful. I love the walk-in shower. Love to sit on the porch and read - it's so restful. The new fountains provide a relaxing background. The food is great and the service is wonderful. I'd highly recommend Blessings to anyone who wants a quiet getaway.

Beautiful and comfortable

We stayed at this Bed & breakfast in early June, 2011 and though the home and the innkeepers were delightful. We prefer to stay in B & B's rather than Hotels and this one was exceptional. Gwenn, Glen and also little Varlerie were freindly and actually went out of their way to make you comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding and the home was very clean and well kept. We stayed in the larger suite and the king bed was comfortable and I can not begin to even tell you how absolutely beautiful and roomy the bathroom is. I highly recommend this B & B. Just what we were looking for!

Blessings On State exceeded our expectations. This was the perfect stay for our weekend away. The cozy suite and beautiful bathroom (with a large shower and cozy tub), the 24 hour beverage station, fresh baked cookies before bed, the delicious breakfast served at our convenience (I'm still trying to duplicate a recipe) and our hospitable Innkeeper Gwenn, made our first stay at a B&B a time to remember. We hope to be back for another stay in the future. If you plan to be in the area or our just looking for a B&B to stay for a little getaway, Blessings On State is the place!

a nice quiet experience in jacksonville

I had a lovely one night stay. The front suite is lovely, with a great sitting room adjacent to the bedroom. Breakfast was excellent!

A blessed time at The Blessings on State

We had a wonderful stay at Blessings on State! It's a beautiful home on a very quaint street. The quiet area provided a relaxing atmosphere. Gwenn is a WONDERFUL cook--breakfast was SO-O-O good!!! She provided evening snacks and great company. She was very helpful and made reservations for us at a restaurant. She made sure every detail was taken care of. I would highly recommend this place!
