"I really tend to review only independent hotels. We all know what to expect from a big chain hotel, but the independent places are less predictable. I really like this kind of hotel. Very laid-back and with a nice slightly quirky atmosphere, unlike a dull chain hotel. The rooms are huge. Bathroom was OK. I couldn't get the shower to work properly so resorted to the Indian 'bucket and jug' method, which was fine. (I'm sure if I had asked, they would have sorted out the shower for me. I didn't...

"At the check-in, the credit card machine was not working. They tried my three cards with no success. Finally the check-in person accepted that there was nothing wrong with all my cards. After we moved in our room, we found out that the TV in the room was not working. They tried to fix the TV and eventually gave up and gave us another room. "
