"Lovely room, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast and great location "

"Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again."

No cleaning service, no sitcom (it was hooottt), no elevator, no service. Staff quite rude. We asked why there was no room no room cleaning. The lady said „our fault“ as we did not put out a sign. "First room was unusable due to extreme noise all night, and I only got moved the next day after reporting it. The first night was therefore effectively lost and no refund was given. Also concerning: the hotel took full credit card details, including the security code (CVV), and wrote them down on a piece of paper, which is unsafe practice. "Location is perfect for the beach and walking distance to restaurants. Parking is horendous. The lift didn't work when we visited, which was not ideal for 4 people with health and mobility issues, we were on the 2nd floor. The staires are quite rickety and winding. There wasn't air conditioning, but they did provide a fan. Our toilet seat was broken, we did report it, but was told it was a bank holiday weekend so nothing could be done. "We have stayed at this hotel several times before. It’s a great location in Eastbourne. The bed was clean and fresh and the breakfast very tasty. However, it is very tired. Our room was very disappointing- damp on the ceiling, one light fitting in the en-suite was hanging out of the ceiling and 2 other down lighting bulbs did not work. There was no heating in the room and it was needed. Also, there was no BBC on the very small and inefficient TV."

"The staff were amazing from the front desk Darcy and mum to the night porter, who could not do enough for us brilliant. Would recommend to all ages and jealous that we’re not still there. Carnival was great; only thing is if you’re down for this event next year, find parking first early, as it’s at a premiere. Massive shout out again to all. 👍😘"

"Lift not working, stairs dirty and stairwell smelly, Bath overflow and shower glass plastic fitting dire. Bathroom fan didn't work Photos on Expedia and hotel web site not current, show hotel many years ago. Wood rotting around bedroom window frames at bottom, false balcony rusted. Front entrance had cigarette butt's beer cans and bottles littering it. Very upsetting"

"The hotel was clean and comfortable. On arrival, I was made to feel welcome and the hotel policies explained in a friendly manner including the WiFi password. The room was cleaned during my stay and there were complimentary amenities left in reception for guests outside of normal hours . This was a nice touch to be able to get extra milk for coffee late at night. Lovely friendly staff ,and great security . The location of the property is excellent. I would return again ."
