"Couldn't wish for a better welcome, hosts were exactly my cuppa - laid back and relaxed at all times. Looked after well before I even got to the site and enjoyed an unexpected upgrade. Very decent breakfast to set me up also. Hope to stay there again soon!"

"I booked to stay one night with a chance I might need a second night. Room was a separate wooden chalet. Door very difficult to open. Small bathroom with shower a bit difficult to access unless you have long legs. Mirror near toilet not easy to see. Glad I didn’t need to make up. Breakfast was a bag with croissant and porridge to mix yourself and an apple. Jam, butter orange juice also provided but juice not very nice and make your own coffee from Nescafé in room. "Magnificent grounds, the approach on driving towards the Hall is stunning. It's a beautiful historic building with a very pleasant bar with lovely outdoor seating overlooking the grounds open until 10pm. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was amazing. Lovely full cooked options and lots of fresh fruit with greek yoghurt and pastries etc .. The room and ensuite bathroom was simple but very pleasant and the bed comfortable. "The staff are great at this hotel. Rooms are large, water is hot and fast, lots of parking, and the location is fab for the town, river and park."

"Arrived to find the place locked up and had to make a phone call for someone to come to the pub to give us our room key. Apparently there was a problem of having no electricity due to the heat. No evening meal available and no bar; breakfast was average, with some folk having to wait a long time for service. The place was clean and room was comfortable."

"The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. "Very nice stay. Young man - sorry didn't get his name - behind bar who checked me in was excellent, so helpful and polite. Breakfast, however was disappointing. Had to book a specific time slot and when I arrived, having booked and paid the evening before, I was told that they didn't know that I had booked. Was then asked what I wanted to eat with no menu choices and took quite a while to make although only cereals and toast on offer. Dispite this I would stay again as lovely location,...

"Good evening, firstly I’d like to say that the start of our stay was very welcoming and professional. However just a few things that I’d like to touch on, our bed was dirty, the duvet had a urine stain on it, the hot tub was filthy and had a hose pipe that my partner nearly tripped up on and had to move to a secure place out of harms way. Lastly id like to comment for more awareness than anything, whilst trying to sleep there were a few people that were trying to get into our bedroom, which...

"Full cooked breakfast was available, parking was available with plenty of space. The room could have been cleaned better, especially around the window but the rest of the room and the bathroom were fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. I understand the property had new owners so they were probably still getting to know the property."

"The air conditioning worked well both in our room albeit it was a little noisy. This was much appreciated in the current heatwave. The rest of the hotel was pleasantly cool too. Breakfast was good value although a choice of type of egg would have been nice. There was some fresh fruit and a good choice of bread. We ate in one evening and enjoyed our curries. The staff were all very pleasant. Recommended for a short stay."

"I stayed here with my son. Room was really hot and therefore very uncomfortable. Fan supplied was very poor. We couldn't find the bar and couldn't gain access to the vending machines in the other building. Spent a sleepless night with no drinks. Couldn't voice our issues in morning as no one in reception."
