"Amazing stay. Its a very old English Pub with room.above it. It is not an American or Canadian hotel. Don't think of it like that. Book it for one of the unique stays of your life."

"Words fail me. Enough said."

"Clean, staff great, breakfasts a great choice"

"Cosy, warm room with very comfortable bed. Fresh milk and a coffee percolator as well as a kettle were a bonus. We enjoyed our stay and would use the pub again if we were in the area. Very attractive pub downstairs."

"Great hotel run by very helpful staff- beds were very comfortable and the room was lovely. Excellent breakfast ! We will be back!"

"Very peaceful"

"Just a one night stay but I would definitely use the Captain Cook again. We had an ensuite bedroom which was spacious and had all we needed. The bathroom is a bit snug, but fine and clean. Staff were friendly. All in all very good."

"Easy to get out and about, wonderful hosts great value for money"

"Absolutely fantastic stay in a lovely cosy pub. Staff could not have been more helpful. The room we stayed in was amazing add to this the fantastic food and atmosphere and it all adds up to a memorable stay. We will be back again."

"The room was spacious, and the mattress comfortable. The room was freezing cold, and I didn't get to speak with anyone to get heating. The duvet is very thin, so it was a cold stay. Also the shower wasn't great. Good water pressure mostly, but it did drop so the shower was more of a trickle than a shower. Plus, the shower wasn't all that clean- dusty and water marked."

"A fantastic stay with our dog with easy access to Virginia Water. The staff were excellent and super helpful."

"A typical English country pub with a friendly aura, professional staff, spotlessly clean and a good array of beers. We stayed one night, the room was on the smaller size but well equipped. Being a pub bed and breakfast you have to accept noise to eleven but thereafter it was so peaceful until morning chorus. The full English breakfast was delicious and the fish and chips the previous night was also of a high standard. Recommendable."

"Both nights I stayed there were extremely loud parties with obnoxiously loud music that didn’t stop until midnight. We were not notified that this would occur and I certainly wouldn’t have stayed. Extremely inconsiderate of the staff. Would not recommend unless you enjoy being vibrated out of your bed."
