"The actual office was closed the entire time we were there with no information to contact anyone. I had to search for my reservation email to get information to call someone for the motel. The motel representative on the telephone told me that they had sent my instructions to access the room "10 hours earlier", however, I never did receive that information. After speaking to the room representative, I did receive instructions to access my room and then I also received, via text ,an invoice under another person's name, for 3 bedroom rental in New Orleans for $ 888.43, not sure why? At this point, I was getting too tired to deal with it.
When this room was booked, I selected(and paid for) a "newly renovated" room and the room I entered was nothing like the booking picture or "newly renovated" description. There was no remote for the TV to be found and as we searched for it, we didn't find the remote but discovered 2 empty whiskey bottles in the dresser drawer and behind the refrigerator. I also ran across dust balls on the floor here and there indicating to me that the place hadn't been vacuumed recently either. The bed sheets and bathroom were ok. Since there wasn't a local hotel person to reach out to, we never did get a remote to even turn on the TV. Needless to say, I will not be staying at the Birch Glen Lodge again and I will not encourage others not to stay either."
"Nice golf course, amazing thermal-warmed pool, fun bar, decent restaurant, clean rooms, beautiful scenery and interesting tourist town nearby. Rooms in the motel were recently renovated and are cute and clean, but very small. No fridge or microwave and mine seemed to lean slightly. The toilet wouldn't quit running after flushing until I opened the tank lid and clicked the floater arm. Had to do that every time. The mini coffee maker apparently was clogged and the coffee spilled out all over the bedside table. I had to use the bathroom hand towels to mop it up really quickly. Went to the office to get more towels (and some more TP and stuff, since there was no housekeeping service) and was told I needed to wait until I saw the "housekeeping girl" who would be "coming around eventually" to prepare rooms for arriving guests and ask her for some fresh stuff. I didn't really want to hang around and be on the lookout for "the housekeeping girl", but went swimming for an hour and then headed back to the room. Luckily I did see a golf cart parked near our room and found her. She cheerfully gave me some fresh items and I was able to leave and go have more fun. Overall it's a nice place for a reasonable price, but bring your own cooler and don't expect 5 star experience."
"I have pictures and videos of this horrible unsafe condition. Bug's all over dropping off the ceiling threw the night all over the walls and floors. Dirty sheets other people's hair and glasses in the bed and some type of orange stains. Tube had other people's hair, mold, staind towels, toilet was not clean. The bathroom amenities had been opened and used prior to us. On the other bedroom it looked like mouse poop on the bed sheet. We had to remove our shoes and socks because the floor in the kitchen we kept catching on their LVP or laminate flooring because it's uneven and coming apart so we had to be barefoot stepping on bugs to the point where our feet were disgusting black. There was holes in the walls. Dead bugs and mold in the window seals. The walls had painted bubbling.
Even though it says that we could check in early unless people were there we were not able to. So we had to find a place to go until we could check in at 4pm it was raining and we had kids with us. Our 11/2 year old and 9 year old had gotten really wet and even though it said it had washer and dryer it didn't. So no we couldn't wash our sheets or even dry our clothes from being wet. There was ant traps on the floor and on the counter when I made coffee we found out that there was bugs in our coffee.
We also found a pill in the couch that our 1 1/2 years old could have gotten a hold of. With balloons that she did find.
All the towels were staind but one. I would like a refund for our stay. "
