I was really upset as the people who owned Chatsworth hotel when I booked through hotels.com last year had sold the property so I didn't have anywhere to stay. I ended up finding another hotel which ended up being a small double which I had to share with my sister

Avoid at all cost in need off a lot of repairs lift didn't work which was no good to me as my son uses a wheelchair stair rail was wobbly and a l lot more. You get breakfast or anything. I asked for refund as I ended up moving to another hotel been told I might not get it DO Not Go HERE

On arrival there was two guests demanding their money back not a great welcome. Went to the toilet down in reception was covered in human waste and not clean at all. Our bed was meant to be a queen instead it was two single beds pushed together very uncomfortable had a bad back the following day. Window on balcony was smashed. Curtains had brown staines on them

Not what I expected at all!!!!!
We arrived early so couldn't check-in but left cases and came back to find no one about to check in and waited 15 mins before someone arrived. He gave me my key and that was it! I was eventually helped with my case (my hubby wasnt there at time) after I got to first flight of stairs and the lift didnt work. When I got to room it wasnt what i expected. Firstly when I booked I asked for sea view and this was a view of a wall! Secondly was told there was tea/coffee making facilities but there was a kettle, a few sachets of coffee and loads of sugar that was it.There was only one cup and two bath towels but no bath mat or hand towel. I went to plug in my charger behind bedside table and there was an empty burger box, a chicken nugget and a few chips!!!! My husband complained about all this and whilst waiting another couple were infront of him also complaining about having dirty sheets. They did eventually get us what we needed but no bath mat or hand towel just an extra bath towel. They said they didnt keep any in hotel. There also never seemed to be anyone on reception to help you. We will not be staying here again

Poor poor poor this hotel has so much potential of they just invested a little money the reviewers are bad all the way back in 2016 so they can't blame covid for the poor condition And just a heads up don't stay on the top floor there is no fire escape

Do not even bother with this place. Absoloutely horrendous. It’s more of a hostel than a hotel. Dirty and in a bad state. People fighting and arguing, banging on the doors to get in. No one on-site to deal with it. We left first thing in the morning. Rang hotels.com they said there’s nothing they can do. They gave me a number to ring for the hotel. The company were not in the slightest interested. They said they can’t help that people get drunk and fight! No I understand that but you can deal with it when it happens. But there was nobody around at all. I asked about a refund, they said “ I’m going to be honest with you, you won’t be getting a refund as you didn’t complain at the hotel!” How could we? There was nobody there. He then went on to say you should have rang the number on the piece of paper at the closed desk. There was no piece of paper there. I explained this, he then said well one of the drunk people must have moved it. REALLY??? The worst thing about it is that we had my 85 year old grandmother with us. She was petrified. Bless her. An absolute joke of a place. Hotels.com should not be advertising this kind of place on their site

HORRIBLE SCUFFY PLACE
We didn't stay...what a horrible scruffy place...outside was bad...weeds and filthy windows, the reception area was poor....not for us...you expect some comfort....I should've looked at the reviews properly....awful....nothing at all to like..!!

Checked eventually after showing my confirmation email. No toilet roll in bathroom, there was a shower in the bath but no shower curtain. We had 2 3ft single beds pushed together and bottom sheet and duvet cover didn't fit the bed and duvet. I won't be staying again

Very poor experience, bed was made and a clean towel at start of week, room wasn’t hoovered, lift did not work so had to lump cases up and down two flights of stairs, shower screen came off runner when I tried to close it, bar area and restaurant area was a total mess,although these were not functioning.

The hotel was not what the pictures show, the bedroom was small and the plug sockets came off the wall. The wallpaper was coming off the walls and the flooring didn’t cover the whole wall. The bed and floor and chairs had stains on. The walls around the hotel was broken and you could see the brick work from where the plaster had came off. The doors were hard to open as they weren’t on properly. Some of the doors were boarded up on one side as the glass was broken. The WiFi doesn’t reach all the rooms in the hotel. The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable. The lift doesn’t work.

I am absolutly discusted i booked a holiday for a few days to take my mum away that is suffering terminal lung cancer and copd i just wanted to take her way and have some peace be for she started her treatment. I booked a double room that was ment to have a balcony so my mum could get as much fresh air as she needed because of her lungs but the windows were broken and one of them was duck taped up because it wouldnt open or close. I orderd a queen size bed so we could share but the bed was 2 single beds pushed together and a sheet over them to make it a double but the mattresses were at diffrent levels and very uncomfortable that my mum had to go buy a mattress topper to place on top. There was an onsuit but There was no plug for the bath only the sink and the bath was not able to hold water to take a bath so had to body was for 4 days. There is no breakfast available and no bar as stated there was no wifi as stated. The lifts did not work and an older lady who had a knee replacement had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to her room😠 The staff were terrable and when i asked them about the room and said this is not what i paid for all they told me was we dont do queen beds or balconys but clearly there were balconys and queensize beds because other residents had told me and showed me their rooms. (I havent enough room to wright everythung but this hotel is beyond a joke

When I arrived there was a guy at reception then just grunted at me told me the boss was out and made me wait to check in, when I get to the room there is sand in the bed there are tea and coffee facilities but no milk. The room windows are rubbish so you can hear everything from outside and it’s on the front so people are walking past all night. The windows in the room were cracked too

The property looked like it hadnt been cleaned for a good few months. Behind the toilet was dust and dirt the bedding was dirty. There wasnt any toilet roll. Dirty shower and was very dusty.

The hotel is very warn, broken glass doors covered with wood sheet had a fusty smell throughout the building outside areas very mucky and littered with cigarette butts a good sweep of all outside areas would make it more appealing and some weeding would make it look better room was very poorly decorated peeling wallpaper cracked bath panel and broken light shades patio door did not shut properly staff member was friendly and helpful would not stay here again as not good value for money due to better hotels in area charging similar prices for better rooms!

Decent hotel, a couple flaws but would come again
My partner and I's experience at Chatsworth Hotel was pretty good overall. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. A little disappointed with service from the staff as reception always seemed empty when you needed them. Only bad thing about the room was that the curtains didn't block out any light. Usually wouldn't be a huge issue, but it did make it difficult to get to sleep with our window being on the lit high street. Bathroom was okay but didn't have a proper shower. No fault of the hotel's but walked by a room one morning to hear loud moaning haha. But no, would definitely stay here again.

Worse hotel ever!!!
When arrived no one was there for about 20 minutes when the guy did arrive he was eating his food, not professional. When got keys to the room we was put in a small room with one small single window. There was broken draws, wall paper falling down little creatures in the bathroom hand prints on the mirror it was a disgrace..... The room was very hot I ask to use a fan the guy said OK il get one by the time I asked for the 3rd time he closed the office and went home... This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at I wouldn't stop here again

Wallpaper falling off the walls, cracks in the ceiling, no bar, no resturant, no hot water, useless staff, 4 parking spots for all the guests, cutrains didn't block any light, sheets were paper thin and you could hear every person on the same floor through the walls.

Hotel was awful. Wouldn’t pay £75 a room!! Waited a long time for someone to come to reception. The room had a broken chest of drawers, mould on the window and broken window handle. Lights arcaect needs an updated. Bar and breakfast area out of service due to needed a revamp. Def not worth the money

Needs so much work.
The hotel was a last minute resort for us due to loosing another. This hotel could be good, if they put some money into making it nice! We stayed in a room with a balcony, but the door wouldn’t close or lock, resulting in us having to place the sofa in front of it to try and give us peace of mind, especially when leaving the room and sleeping! The room wasn’t clean either. The bed frame had a massive hole in the bottom. One of our pillows was yellow! There was dead bugs, and the toilet seat wasn’t even attached to the toilet.
