"Overall pretty great, but definitely a few negatives. Cleanliness was not 100%, by a long shot. Room was incredibly hot, oh so unbearably hot. We opened the sliding door as it was cool outside, but then flooded our room with bugs (100's of them). Room was close to the "lake", aka still water pond. Hence all of the bugs. If you are going to book this hotel, definitely book away from the pond or do not come in the hotter summer months. Staff were awesome, exceptionally amazing."

"The room had everything we needed, and we managed to get extra coffee when we required it. The staff were very helpful and made our visit run smoothly. For our stay, the air conditioning in the room was a bonus, as it was during a very hot spell. We didn't watch the TV, but it looked to have everything you might need on there. "I had a great stay at this hotel for the night. Very clean, comfortable beds. Clean shower. Could connect to the TV to watch the likes of YouTube or watch normal channels. Room service, although I didn't use this. A lovely restaurant with lovely food..and the staff were fantastic. Even checked me in an hour early. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and I highly recommend booking."

"We have stayed here before several times but this time was really disappointing. We booked an accessible room but on arrival we were told this wasn't available and we were on the first floor. It was fortunate my operation for a knee replacement was postponed or I wouldn't have managed the stairs (no lift). The first floor room was stifling as it was during the ongoing heatwave. No fan provided. We went straight to get a cold drink (having driven 200 miles we were parched). Ordered the drinks...

"One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale."

"The hotel was clean, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel location is convenient, but for foot passengers travelling with baggage, it's not so good. You have to walk a fair distance down a winding pathway, then push or pull your baggage up the hill for your return. When it is raining, this is very unpleasant. Not happy with this at all."

"We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail. The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty. Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms."

"Beautiful hotel, great location, immaculate and picturesque gardens. Rooms well decorated, clean, really can't complain about the aesthetics. Staff attentive. Breakfast choice very good and delicious. Our only complaint was the noise in the beer garden. The weather was really good, and so, attracted people (guests & non guests) to the beer garden. "An excellent hotel and very reasonably priced. We ate on the terrace in fantastic weather. Also at breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Our cosy courtyard room was modern and well kept and the cold fan certainly helped. The building, grounds and staff are really great. We will stay again."

"We had a traumatic experience going to see `take `that weeks before. Trying to get a taxi out of the city. It was 1am when we got back to the hotel. The concert finished at 10.30. 5 women in our 60’s waiting on a pavement in Cardiff was awful. So I asked the Coach and Horses if we could cancel and have a refund (this hotel is a taxi ride way!) they refused as it was non refundable rooms. So I asked them several times. If I could have a credit note £270!! Not including breakfast is a lot to lose,...

"The room was fine. Beware of the parking charge which is applied to you if you have booked through Expedia. I personally think it is ridiculous to charge extra for parking at a motorway service station hotel."
