Breakfast was terrible quality. Not the fault of the staff, but the company who orders that food. Beds were comfortable but definitely full size beds when they say they’re queens. Won’t stay at a Cobblestone again if there are other options.

The whole hotel smelt very musty. Their breakfast was out of a microwave. Not good at all. The only good thing that was ok I had a clean trash bag in my trash can to put ice in for a cooler. That's all

Don’t forget to notice that there is no elevator. If you stay on the second floor, you have to walk up the stairs. We were originally assigned a room on the second floor, but the staff person at the desk was able to give us a room on the first floor.

Breakfast was to be served until 10 am, but all the hot food was gone by 9:30. No one was available to ask about the food. Our room key quit working on the day we were to check out. We went to breakfast and couldn't get back into our room. I had to go back to the desk twice and it still didn't work and they had to use their key to let us in the room.

The staff at both check in and checkout were great to deal with. The problem came with the room. The bed was very uncomfortable….very hard as if we were sleeping on the floor. The real problem was opening the dresser drawers and finding the previous occupants personal garments (shirts, bras and underwear). Makes me wonder what type of cleaning procedures are really happening
Clothing found in the dresser guessing from the previous guest…..how much cleaning to the room actually took place prior to my rental.

The Bad: I let the sink water run over 10 minutes and still no hot water. I was able to get hot water from the tub faucet. Could not get the tub drain to close, so couldn't take a bath. Both chairs were pretty low to try to put makeup on at the sink mirror (which was the only mirror available). Had ice in the lobby but no water there, so had to get tap water from room which needless to say didn't taste good. Hotel is next door to the hospital which could mean sirens through the night. Fortunately there weren't any on the night that I stayed. The Good: Bed and pillows very comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. Seattle's Coffee available in the room and it was really good. Ate yougart, banana, donut and orange juice for breakfast and it was very tasty. Netflix and YouTube on the TV. Newer hotel. Overall: Higly recommend. Price was good as well. I was very close to giving a 5-star rating, but couldn't due to the "bad" mentioned. Clarinda is a great little town too! I definitely felt safe which is important as a female traveling alone.
