Patriotic enjoyment

What an amazing place! It was everything I hoped and more. Highly recommend to stay here if you can....well maybe not if that means I won't be able to reserve because they are packed.

Interesting and educational. Breakfast was at 9 and we had to leave early to get to our event and venue, so we missed it. First day we stayed for breakfast and it was good, but we missed part of our event. Other days we were given to go coffee, fruit and a sugary item, which was not what I'd have preferred. The bed was a bit soft for me, but ok for my husband. The foot massager was wonderful.

What a great experience! We felt like we were living in a museum, which in deed we were! The room was comfortable with a great king bed! The breakfast was awesome and very different each day, and Marty was a live history book full of wonderful stories which he was happy to share. Need to go again to explore even more!

Amazing gem in a small town

I can not believe a place this nice is in my little home town. The breakfast is awesome and the tour afterwards is entertaining and informative.

TRULY AMAZING PLACE WITH AMAZING OWNERS..

We really didn't know what to expect as this was our first time staying at the Inn but when we walked into the rear entrance and met Marty, one of the owners, I knew that we made the right choice. He made us feel right at home, not to mention what an honor to meet him! When I realized he was a fellow veteran not to mention a former executive chef of Camp David along with being a chef at the White House we were truly impressed! And don't get me started about the Inn itself, you can spend DAYS looking at the decor, knick knacks, dozens of glass cases with unbelievable pictures and memorabilia that they have there, what a truly neat place the Inn of the Patriots really is.

Above and Beyond

I booked my parents here for their 53rd wedding anniversary. Not only did they love it, the rest of the family loved it as well! They invited us all in and made us feel at home. They very graciously upgraded my parents' room since it was their anniversary! My parents said the food was amazing! They loved the personal attention they received, and they enjoyed meeting the other guests! When you stay here, you truly feel like one of the family, albeit the royal part of the family, as you are treated royally!

A Delightful Experience...

We've stayed in many B&Bs over the years, but Inn of the Patriots is a one-of-a-kind! Rooms are very nice, and the breakfast was amazing. How often do you have the opportunity to eat a meal prepared by a former White House Chef? What's unique about the Inn is that it is a B&B in a museum. Marti served the White House from the Clinton's to Bush 43, and the collection of memorabilia is mind-boggling. Marti gives a tour of the museum after breakfast that isn't to be missed. If you like history, just a few minutes away is Kings Mountain National Military Park, site of an hour-long battle that changed the direction of the Revolutionary War in favor of the patriots.

Great place—need to stay several days.

We scheduled a stopover as par of a longer trip but arrived late and left early. We did not realize the numerous opportunities available there until we arrived. We plan to return and stay several days.

A truly unique experience

My husband and I stayed here on a little weekend trip. We had an incredible time. The level of service began with their charming daughter showing us around and making us feel like part of the family. Our room, the Baby Ruth Room, was beautifully appointed and filled with great little pieces of history. There was a charming little show on Saturday night, which we enjoyed from the porch. (we're a little shy) The stories were incredible and entertaining. And the porch is amazing... a great place to enjoy the evening air and watch the robins. We retired to our room and enjoyed one the MANY historical DVDs that are all around. In the morning, we were treated to one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Filling, simple but elegant and delicious. We didn't stay long, but what a memorable place! We'd definitely visit again.

The Inn of the Patriots

Marti and Stormy do a great job bringing in all kinds of historical memorabilia. Marti does a remarkable job telling historical stories and reliving history. The food was great and the service awesome. We felt right at home right away. We will be back! :)

I already have reservations for our next trip!

This B & B was quite good in all areas, and very good in service and breakfast food. The owners and staff were super, very personable and great service - could not be better. The building is well maintained, and decorating is quite unique. Owner was President Clinton's cook so breakfast was superb! He even gives free tours of his collection displays after breakfast. Location is convenient to I-85 with good access to Charlotte, NC and not far from Spartanburg, SC. The only minor problem was that the hot water fluctuated during showers when other used the water. Overall a very nice experience.

Only did cooking class

So I only did the cooking class and since he was a former presidential chef and the idea was exploring other countries foods I was rather disappointed that we made cottage pie or Shepard pie especially since it was $40 per person and that was half off. I would have given a worse review if I had paid full price. We did check out the rooms while we were there. Cute but super small. Also not sure why but there was a mousetrap on the kitchen counter. Thankfully it was not set.

4th stay

This was our fourth time staying there and once again it was a wonderful experience . That?s why we keep going back. They are so friendly and hospitable. The beds are cozy and the food is excellent. I plan to go back again in spring.
