10/10 Excellent

"Fantastic location and very clean. The staff were very welcoming, efficient and helpful. The location is brilliant. Very easy to explore the whole of Dorset and opposite a train station, (Moreton) if you want to use the train. There’s also a bus stop opposite. We were close to the Tank Museum, Clouds Hill and the village of Moreton has a beautiful church with stunning windows, and it’s where TE Lawrence had his funeral and he is buried close by- you can visit his grave. Excellent location for exploring. The food was good and reasonably priced- we ate there on the first evening. The only drawback was the road noise sometimes during rush hour, but this is not the fault of the owners! A lovely stay and very reasonable. We were here during a heatwave, so the aircon in the room was appreciated. There is also a co-op close by for convenience too. The breakfast was generous and included too. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The Frampton family are also historically connected to the Tolpuddle Martyrs (the family were on the wrong side of history, so this was a fun connection when we visited that area too! ) Lots to see and do and near Chesil Beach, all the Hardy bits and pieces, Cerne Abbas Giant, Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Poundbury, etc. -all easily reached by car."

"Friendly, helpful and informative staff. Central location. Parking, hmmnn, a bit tight. You're relying upon the good parking of others. Also, it's a centuries old coaching inn, with no air-con. Unfortunately our stay coincided with unseasonably high temperatures (32C+) and we were in a top floor room (no.13 !) A small fan was provided, but this had little effect against the oppresive heat."

"Really dated and tierd but staff making best of what they have. We visited in a heatwave so perhaps not a true reflection but was stifling. No air con. A small broken (span but didnt move side to side)fan provided that pushed the warm air around and the next morning fans had been put in the corridor. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast staff a bit abrupt but again perhaps the heat! We booked for a short stay and the surrounding countryside and shaftesbury Town are lovely. The hotel is situated on the main road although still quiet and lovely garden etc. Gpod location for the town etc Unfortunately the pool area is not nice. Changing rooms really dirty and the pool water really cloudy and murky- the main reason we chose the hotel was for the pool. All in all was fine for an overnight stay and room was clean. Just a bit old fashioned and dated for us and the pool area need some attention"

"Convenient location. Parking was round the corner and the entrance to the cathedral was across the street. Five minute walk to the shops etc. The staff was extremely helpful. Excellent breakfast. In house restaurant. Historic and quaint property which is its big charm but also means no elevators or air conditioning. All other modern amenities are present. Bathrooms are fully modern. Rooms are very clean."

"I was annoyed at having to pay £45 to take my little dog and then when we arrived there wasxan offer on that dogs were FREE and would not refund me ! Coz i booked early in the year before the offer !! Also expected towels and had to hire them at a cost of £6 Also no WiFi in the lodge !! Ugh ! Also only one resturant bar was open except on our last night ( Thursday)'"
