Sossusvlei lodge was fantastic. Rooms,food and staff all excellent. A few problems like know WiFi in your room the only connection was at the bar. Breakfast and Dinner both start at 7am/7pm an earlier b/fast would be good for early starters.

Amazing location, amazing staff, good food. Well maintained facility, waterhole, dinner under stars breathtaking.Two things u need to know, No adapters that work for the USA devices on site, or in nearby market, make sure u bring yours. Secondly the vehicle that the lodge uses to take you to the dunes is a open buggy used usually for game viewing..the ride to Deadvlei was very bumpy in this vehicles. And very cold in the morning with wind on your face. If you can arrange from outside a 4x4 suv that would be ideal. Those are only two reasons I gave an overall 4 stars to this lodge otherwise it could be a 5

The location was perfect - just outside the gate! The grounds were immaculate, with views you couldn't believe. Animals right from your dinner! The food was excellent - I couldn't believe how good given it was buffet style! I would definitely stay here again!!

Location ideal to visit Sossusvlei as the lodge is next to Sesriem entry gate. The view from the rooms is beautiful, endless desert where you can observe Oryx. Food is a buffet with good grill selection. I stayed in the junior suite. The room is very spacious with really nice terrace. Note that the private pool is not heated, so if you don’t appreciate cold water you will never use it. One negative note I shared to the management is that the « tent-like » cover they put on top of each lodge is making a lot of noise on the ceiling when there is wind, making it very hard to sleep. At this price range, this is an issue. I would have put 5* if it wasn’t for the quality of my sleep

The Sossuvlei Lodge is a beautiful property, the staff we're friendly and professional. The meals are buffets with plenty of choices and good quality food. The Lodge is just outside the Sossuvlei park entrance do its conveniently located to the Dunes, Sesriem canyon and Deadvlei.

Super Awesome Stay

We had an amazing stay! Room 145 with the little pool was stunning! We used the pool everyday. The room is super spacious, beautifully decorated, every detail is perfect. The food was very good with a big variety to choose from. We took one of their activity flights to see an aerial view, highly recommend it!

We had a very nice stay overall. Our chalet was spacious with an amazing desert & mountain view. We opted in for full board and food was great with plenty of choice. A bit weirdly, we had fish which was fresh and well prepared (couldn't say the same for all the places we stayed at in Namibia, even of others were by the ocean). Finally, the property's location is very good for visiting Sossusvlei - right at the park's great, not and hour drive away like many others.

Location is one of the only things going for this lodge. It’s just by the gate to get into Sossusvlei. Staff are rude and inattentive. You get allocated a table for dinner but difficult to get attention to order drinks or to clear away your plates. It’s all buffet service so plenty of choice. They cater for bus loads of groups and not individuals. Found the bar staff rude and dismissive. Lunch options are poor, and you can’t order an à la carte lunch till after 2.30 and then limited options. We ended going to the garage a short walk away.

Well run, good location

We stayed two nights at Sossuvlei Lodge - as it is a perfect jumping off point into the national park. This location worked well for their organised morning tour (which eas good) and a self-guided trip to Sesriem Canyon. The lodge is larger and more busy than many other in Namibia (because of the location) so be prepared for a lot of people and Western style busy dinner buffet. The lodge is unbounded to the desert which is nice for seeing Oryx come wandering nearby. Our room was large, but the bathroom oddly hot with a strange smell. Overall, the place was what we wanted so we we're pleased with our stay.

I came to Namibia to photograph the country, especially Deadvlei. I traveled 1000 miles in a 4x4 truck and I travel spontaneously without a strict itinerary. I needed a hotel to stay near the entrance to Namibi Naukluft Park and Sossuvlei Lodge was perfect!! It is located a 3-minute drive from the park entrance. It was perfect. While staying at the lodge, I was able to find dark space back behind my room and get incredible photos of the stars and the Milky Way. The lodge is beautiful and luxurious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were top-notched and included such interesting and delicious foods. I didn't realized until I checked out that this lodge is considered one of the best in the world! I whole-heartedly recommend Sossuvlei Lodge!

This property was decent and clean and very close to the dunes entry area. Our unit was a bit of a walk away from the parking area so that was a challenge. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms (really no wifi in all of the area). You had to go to the restaurant or bar area to get wifi and that was very frustrating. I could not even make phone calls from my room without a wifi connection. I think this information should be made known ahead of time so people can prepare for that situation.
