Er stond op de website nergens vermeld dat de accommodatie maar gedeeltelijk werd gerenoveerd. Alle foto's zijn van de vernieuwde gebouwen. Spijtig genoeg kregen wij een kamer in het niet gerenoveerde gedeelde, maar betaalden dezelfde prijs als voor een grotere kamer in het gedeelte dat wel gerenoveerd was. Aan de receptie konden ze ons één nacht geven in een nieuwe kamer, maar moesten we de rest van ons verblijf in de oude kamer blijven. We hebben dit niet gedaan, om een verhuis voor één nacht te vermijden. Zeer teleurstellend, want normaal gezien doen we geen luxe resorts, maar wilden we de kinderen dit voor een keer wel gunnen voor de laatste nachten van ons verblijf in Gambia.

The staff is TERRIBLE. They don't know what is all inclusive. It's to much to explain how terrible my experience was! I arrived at 9:30 PM because i was waiting 6 hours for ferry and I paid for all inclusive. They send me to a restaurant area where I supposed to pay, and they put me menu on the table to order. After that I asked why should I pay because I am all inclusive, and they told me that all inclusive it's closed, but in the same time to pay a la carte was open. After 30 minutes arguing about this ireal situation , the gave me and my group a miserable tuna burger. Remember this word: MISERABLE. I didn't eat and I was going outside of the "resort" paying for taxi, searching for a restaurant to finally eat something. I was back at 2:00AM. So I need 4 hours to eat, pay for my food for me and my group, pay for taxi and go to bed in this "all inclusive". Everything is made for pictures, especially the pool outside, to "look good" for selling. Inside is TERRIBLE. Alarms starting for no reasons couple times a day, everything are poor quality. If you are looking for all inclusive resort experience, AVOID THIS FAKE RESORT.

Sans plus personnel désagréable
Je suis allée à cet hôtel avec un ami au mois d'avril. La porte de la chambre ne fermait pas correctement à cause de la poignée cassée . Le personnel de l’hôtel est désagréable particulièrement à l’accueil. Le petit déjeuner buffet était correct mais rien d'exceptionnel. Je ne voudrais pas y retourner. Pas à la hauteur.

Quite a tired place with good need of some TLC, particularly in the rooms. Staff were generally friendly, but I was a bit put out when they repeatedly tried to charge me double for my airport transfer. The WiFi is not free, and you're better off buying a SIM card and using that as a hotspot. Similiarly, no bottled water is provided and must be paid for separately, or just bought from one of the shops outside the hotel entrance. Taxis out the front attempt to charge extortionate rates, but can be bargained down easily enough, but that's to be expected. Otherwise, the situation is nice (on the beach), and the pool area comfortable for sitting.

Vi har været gæster på hotellet i mange år, så derfor var det tydeligt at der er sket store ændringer i negativ retning. Priser på mad og service er steget mere end det er værd. Der er meget ringe fleksibilitet, med regime regler, som formentlig bunder i mistillid til både medarbejdere og gæster. Stemningen blandt medarbejdere er dårlig og beklagende. Det påvirker stemningen og servicen. Vi vælger fremover andet hotel.

Pros:Great beach. Great breakfast buffet. Great location near to other restaurants and mini marts. Cons: Rooms run down and not very clean. Some rooms very far from reception. 3 levels and no elevator. Hidden fees for wifi in room and use of safe in room.

thank you for your observations. The rooms are old indeed but very clean (we have a 99% satisfaction level) so if you feel yours wansn't cleaned properly, our apologies. there is a ground level and 2 floors and indeed no elevator. there are no hidden fees, as it is never said that we have free wifi in the room and the safe is indeed to be paid in the standard rooms

gemoedelijk hotel
een gezellig, middelgroot hotel, direct gelegen aan het strand, met ligbedden. prachtig gelegen, en veel bedrijvigheid. fijn zwembad, Redelijk ontbijt, en een matige keuken. Vriendelijk personeel, wat alles zal doen om je te helpen. natuurlijk wel tegen de gebruikelijke fooi. Kamers ruim, goed bed , airco, een vrij eenvoudige indeling maar met een goede douche.

Fint og avslappende hotell. Live musikk på kveldene, kan være noe forstyrrende om du vil legge deg tidlig og bor nærmest bassenget. Mye selgere rett utenfor hotellets port både på stranden og mot veien. God frokostbuffet, men middagene er ikke så mye å skryte av, bedre å spise utenfor hotellet.

Good Stay and Local Contact
Nice area, lovely local people so warm and friendly. Hotel had good outdoor facilities but the room itself is in need of a refurb. Good basic facilities, comfy bed, no complaints about the room, however in the bathroom our shower curtain was in desperate need of replacing and would have made it feel much cleaner. If you're looking to stay, we'd recommend our local tour guide who helped us with hotel transfer and local trips at good prices. He's called Yaya and can be contacted on whatsapp - +2207602589.

Gone down hill
No hot water run out of food every night on half board. Every one complained got money back .management not bothered. Been lots of times before will never go back. Up graded room not wear the the money

Nightmare.
Løgn og korruption mødte os den første dag vi ankom. Meget frustrerende oplevelse. Vi havde booket en suite og fik beliggenhed til pool , bar med larm. Vi fik vist en anden suite, stille om aftenen. Den sagde vi ok til. Der var en del store myrer så de ville lige spraye den, så kunne vi flytte ind om morgenen. Næste morgen fik jeg besked om at den var optaget. Masse snak i 1,5 time hvor den ene ikke kunne huske sen ene løgn fra den anden. Efter hård kamp i 1,5 time måtte de overgive sig og vi fik den lovede suite. Den var nemlig ikke optaget men blot lovet væk af manageren. Det værste er at man nærmest ikke forstår at dette kan forekomme. Man er helt hjælpeløs og overladt til deres nåde. Ikke en eneste fornuftig ansat at tale med!!!! Desværre viser alt det dårlige på hotellet at stamme fra dårlig ledelse. De kommer aldrig videre før de får skiftet ledelsen. Der var ikke varmt vand hverken morgen eller aften. Operation manager Gail troede ikke på dette! Jeg tjekkede ud. Kunne ikke acceptere mere og betalte for en nat uden at bo der, idet operation manager Gail ikke ville refundere. Rene håndklæder lugtede af tis. Mælk til kaffen klumpede og var gammel. Balkon møbler plastic der kunne knække når som helst. Træstole var kun til stueetage! Ikke til suiten!!! Aldrig igen, men hvor er det tydeligt at korruptionen kommer fra ledelsen.

Hi and good morning. Yes we remember well this guest, who was not happy with any of our suites, and none that we promised was taken, it was kept for her. As for not refunding, indeed the guest had reserved a non refundable rate and we cannot refund on this thank you

Nice place for a sun vacation
Good: Clean and lately renewed room; very friendly staff; in overall you feel welcome there; Good food Needs improvements: extremely slow service; don't expect much about their rum cocktails (they should change the rum); Annoying local sellers and tour agents (however, in the hotel grounds they are not allowed); Room was cleaned well, but replacement towels, shampoo, toilet paper etc. you had to go and ask yourself (and several times from the several people); They lost my laundry and it took a day continuous asking before they found it again (as a compensation it was not charged).

Great hotel on the beach with friendly staff. Amazing breakfasts, evening entertainment and cocktail happy hour as the sun sets - perfect! Great for kids as lots to do around the pool and activities for them to take part in as well as a fantastic beach!

not room at this hotel
i booked this hotel last year 2017 for feb 2018 paid in full when me and my family get there we was told they are over booked and we could not stay there after a 6hr flight from the uk the kids not call us to tell us this till were got there we got move to another hotel which was miles away

Deterioration
I have stayed at this hotel over a number of years and the standards are deteriorating.Shower with no hot water at some times of the day. A period without any water. Water pressue in wash basin mereely a dribble. Poor finishing to ant restoration work. Internet speed abyssmal. However staff very, very pleasant and anxious to please

En lukinnut huoneen ovea, menin vessaan ja kun tulin ulos joku mies seisoi keskellä huonetta - ei pyydellyt anteeksi, kyseli vaan minun vierailusta. Myöhemmin selvisi että oli hotellin siivooja. Pyyhkeet puuttui, niiden saaminen kesti about tunnin ja nää pyyhkeet toi tämä mies joka seisoi meidän huoneessa aiemmin.Huone oli kuin sauna, nukkuminen mahdotonta. Lovely sea view
Reception staff and porters were superb. The breakfast spread was splendid and staff were very friendly. Other restaurants were adequate - flamed grilled chicken at Barracuda restaurant was in fact a stew (appalling). Food and house keeping hygiene need improving. If a napkin falls on the floor staff should give guests a clean one instead of shaking it off and giving it back. Clean table runners for each new service is required not one that has been used. Appalled that our room was cleaned on day of checking out but sheets weren't even changed. Hope this was checked and changed before new guests arrival.

Is een goed hotel gelegen aan het strand. Heerlijk ontbijt en lekker eten. Goed prijs kwaliteit hotel. Standaard kamers zouden wel moeten uitgerust zijn met haardroger zoals vermeld. Er zijn enkele heel gemotiveerde werknemers, niet allemaal uiteraard maar de managers stralen dit zelf ook niet allemaal uit.

Excellent Hotel next to the Beach
The staff were really friendly, efficient and polite. There was an excellent range of food and night entertainment. The price for food and drinks were really affordable. The beach was clean and right next to the hotel facilities and sun loungers. The pool is far too small for the size of hotel and URGENT need of upgrading. The air conditioning extractor boxes/fans should be placed in the correct bedroom area, as all we could hear was the next door neighbours fan ALL night long - we did not have our on!!

Thank you for your comments, we are working on plans to recreate our pool area over by latest 2018 and we started changing the position of the AC units during summer 2016. Fantastiske omgivelser
Ikke så høy standard som forventet til å være et 4 stjerners hotell, men rommet var godt ned kjølt, noe som hjalp en stakkar finnmarking.. Beliggenheten var nydelig, nærheten til stranden var perfekt. Frokosten var god med utrolig mange valgmuligheter. Hver kveld var det underholdning, flere kvelder var det afrikanske trommer og dans, bare så synd at den fantastiske dansen ble avløst av karaoke. Det var et rolig hotell og selv med mange briter var det usedvanlig lav partyfaktor og lite fyll. Opplevde at den mannlige delen av betjeningen var noe mer serviceminded enn den kvinnelige. Alt i alt var det en god opplevelse.

Hôtel très sympa, très bien situé!
Superbe séjour à kombo Beach! Bon rapport qualité prix, au pied de la plage, grande piscine, très bon petit déj varié

Nicely situated on the beech.
The hotel is situated very well on the beach within walking distance of a few restaurants and places to have a drink. All food we ate around the complex was lovely. The hotel breakfast was very nice also. Great waitresses and staff were seen all round the complex. Very friendly and eager to please (for a small tip). Weill definitely be back.

Nice Beach,
Hotel is located on one of the nicer beaches in the Gambia. Breakfast on offer is sufficient Swimming pool is very small for the size of the hotel. I would recommend staying closer to or in Senegambia area as offers more places to visit of an evening.

Nice hotel right on the beach
We had nice experience on our stay at this hotel. We knew before we went that it is a little dated, and not a brand new bright and shiny place to stay. We went to stay there with some friends for the simple reason of getting a good suntan. This was easily achieved, of course. It suited us fine, and we hardly had a problem with our stay there. The only problem we had was with the very poor internet facility or rather lack of it. We went for walks, along the beaches, and around the local area. We ate at the various restaurants at the hotel, and along the beach, so did not venture out further afield. We all had a great time and would certainly go back to the Kombo beach hotel again.

Great experience!
Our family had a great time at Kombo Beach! Hotel staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The half board is an excellent choice, especially with children. Daily activities and evening music and shows were a delightful bonus. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you!

Diese Bruchbude ist keinesfalls vier Sterne wert!
Das Hotel ist dringend renovierungsbedürftig und wird nachlässig geführt. Die Zimmer werden nur oberflächlich gesäubert und stinken (vermutlich wurde hier jahrelang geraucht), auf dem Balkon rattert und bläst die Klimaanlage des Nachbarn (!), und als "Renovierung" hat man bisher wohl nur gelegentlich frische Farbe über die Wände gepinselt. Die Türen schließen nicht richtig. Check-In war um 14.30 Uhr noch nicht möglich, weil die Zimmer noch nicht geputzt waren. Übrigens praktiziert man hier eine Art "Self-Check-In". Badetücher gab es auch nicht am Anreisetag, weil alle benützt oder schmutzig seien; am Folgetag erst nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen. Nein, wer ein Viersterne-Hotel sucht, sollte sich hier sicher nicht einquartieren.

Lovely hotel bang on the beach !
Lovely hotel on clean sandy beach which stretches for miles ! Hotel and rooms clean & tidy but a bit tired but the staff all try hard. Great position to walk out to bars and restaurants and/or get cab again to very good local bars/restaurants with live bands etc. Certainly a good find and we will return. You need to get into the Gambian way of life though and accept you're in a Third World country ! But, plenty of good food, drink, sun, sea etc etc.
