The couple managing the property were helpful and welcoming. Inside the cottages were clean and adequate but their is an obvious need for maintenance around the cottages. Food was excellent but a wider menu choice would be helpful.

These cabins are close to Seal Bay and have abundant wildlife. Whilst we were there a koala with bay on her back walked past and up a tree. The managers of the property were extremely helpful in providing us with some extras we requested.

Nice. Spot

Nice remote spot. No mattress protector on beds no top sheet.spare Donners without covers on the bunk beds but big stains that didn't look great on them. Would have loved a hair dryer. But nice spot had trouble with the TV but they were very quick to come & fix.

Nice view but poor room

The cottages were in a good location. Close enough to Flinders Chase and other attractions on the South and West side of the island. The Room itself was very basic but paij the bathroom the floor was rotting through and sagged in several places. There was a lot of water damage

Kangaroo island nature adventure

If you were looking to be near most of the attractions on kangaroo Island seal Bay cottages is your best bet. Seal Bay cottages is on a beautiful piece of land. The cottage has amazing solitude and is perfect for stargazing. We were greeted by Kyle the Kaola when we arrived. Lee makes a delicious cup of coffee and strawberry shortcake. The next morning we drove to Seal Bay And got the first tour.

Peace and quiet

Not the fanciest place but in a very quiet location and it was nice to have privacy. Self contained so no need to eat out. Staff very nice.

Cafe/Kueche war geschlossen, was uns leider erst 2 Tage zuvor mitgeteilt wurde. Zimmer waren leider schmutzig - besonders Bett(!!) u Bad. Inhaberin hat sich sehr entschuldigt - es war ihr sichtlich unangenehm, jedoch wurde trotzdem erst nach nochmaliger Erinnerung gereinigt. Lage ist top! Nahe zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten!

A convenient spot for easy access to Seal Bay.

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to Seal Bay and Raptor Domain. The cafe supplied a tasty lunch and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cabins were were typical caravan park style cabins, with everything you need. The shower was hot but nozzle hopeless. There is not much else around in the close vicinity except go for walks in the fields. Lookout for bullants!

Cabin was filthy and dangerous for kids

We arrived to a very dirty cabin - I wondered if the rooms had been cleaned especially the kitchen area. There was a dirty chopping board on the bench, sand and dirt on the floor, filth in the shower and sink. No cleaning materials were provided to wash the dishes. Some of the dishes were filthy and had not been property cleaned in a long time. The tea towels were damp and unwashed. Other had a strange odour. We stayed for 5 days and none of the bathroom towels were changed. The outside of the cabin was also disappointing. Travelling with young children we were looking for an area the kids could play. The cabin was surrounded by large thistles, lots of tree branches and weeds. The front of the cabin had a large piece of tin over the top of a large hole - very unsafe for children. The can opener in the kitchen was broke and jammed with rust. I asked the owner for a new one and he was annoyed that i couldnt work the old opener. He never returned a can opener to the cabin. Poor customer service. Overall, we will not stay here again or recommend this site to friends or family.

Way too dirty for the price

I rarely write reviews, but was rather disappointed with my stay at Seal Bay Cottages, and want to share our experience. Positively, staff was friendly, courteous, and accommodating, and grounds were beautiful. On the negative side...the cottages, though they could be fine for a simple accommodation, were quite bad. Many of the issues could be remedied with proper upkeep and care of the facilities, but I have the impression that they are just getting by. The linens did not appear clean...though no visible debris, there were lots of odd stains on pillow cases and elsewhere, and no top sheet given between the bed and the duvet, and I would be surprised if they wash and change the duvet cover with each guest, so essentially sleeping under a less than ideal surface. The bathroom needed some serious attention: the toilet leaked in the back, and on three different occasions we found pooled water on the bathroom floor, that after inspecting the leak, could not have been from that. My best guess is that sewer water from the floor drain backed up (there has been a lot of severe weather with lots of rain) and remained on the floor. Every time you flush the toilet, there is a strong smell of sewer gas. The refrigerator leaked water inside and covered our food, and left a pool of water on the floor before we used it and after. The final kicker, for me was having a cockroach run across the counter as I prepared b-fast for my family. YUCK! Overall, I was just glad to leave.

Nice cottages, excellent location, great value.

Great location close to the raptor show, Seal Bay, and other KI attractions. Nice cottages, very quite. We found a wallaby and an echidna walking near the cottage.

Ungepflegtes Cottage

Das Cottages war leider sehr ungepflegt und sehr unsauber. In den Küchenschränken, den Töpfen und in der Besteckschublade befanden sich überall Ameisen..tote und lebendige. Die Töpfe, das Besteck und die Handtücher waren nicht sauber. Bei der Bettwäsche konnte man nicht erkennen, ob diese nicht vom Vorgänger noch aufgezogen war. Ich kann dieses Cottage nicht weiterempfehlen.

So peaceful & isolated

Great place to get away from it all and enjoy the peaceful and private surroundings. Friendly staff. Only minor fault is the room had dead bugs and cobwebs in areas, otherwise loved it.
