A lovely experience

This is picky but we were in a cottage not near a restaurant a coffee maker in the room would be nice. No instant hot water. Had to run a long time to get hot water. But still a great and well staffed hotel. Go there.

25th Anniversary

We stayed in an ocean front villa. The area was beautiful and quiet. Our villa was immaculate in every way. We enjoyed the private pool and the whirlpool which are for the villas only. Our anniversary dinner in the Georgian Room was spectacular ---- however, costly. There were five different waitstaff serving us. The employees -- from the front desk to the shuttle drivers -- were outstanding. All asked what they could do to make our stay better. All of the employees seemed to take personal pride in working at The Cloister.

Wedding venue option- will never go back again

Sad to say that the previous reviews were written when The Cloister was under old management. Me, my fiance and my mother went to the cloister for the day to look at is a possible wedding venue option. I had made an appotinment a week before, with Erin, one of the wedding coordinators at 1:30. Well, we looked at the King and Prince first, and went over to the Cloister at 1, a bit early but we were fully aware. We checked in with the concierge at 1 and let him know we had a 1:30 appointment with Erin...he said he would let her know we had arrived. We walked around on our own for a bit then waited in the foyer only to be ignored by every staff member for 20 minutes and watch women that walked in tennis outfits and be offered water and whatnot. 15 mintues past our appontment time we had to find another employee to try and contact Erin....he never showed back up so we had to find ANOTHER employee to find her. He cam back and told us that she said the appointment was at 2 and another woman woudl be helping us now. Well..if she was under the impression that our appointment was at 2...WHY DIDNT ANYONE tell us that when we first arrived and the concierge "said he was going to inform her" we were there?????? Will never go back, Absolutely beautiful place but service and employees are stuck up. -My mother even called then an hour after our appointment to politely express her irritation and how disappointed she was and still havent even received a call back.....

Everything at your doorstep

We had a fabulous stay at The Cloister with our three adult daughters, all of whom have different interests. The room in the main building exceeded our expectations. Each room had approx 950 sq ft and included an entry w/ powder room, a lovely sitting room that was beautifully furnished (with pull-out sofa) and balcony, a large bedroom w/ either king bed or 2 queens and TV, a dressing room w/ huge sink & 2 closets, an enormous bathroom w/ separate bath and large walk-in shower, a sink w/ TV, a separate toilet. The furnishings throughout the hotel are stunning, staff is delightful, restaurants (formal, Italian bistro, casual dining indoor or outdoors) are fabulous AND the spa which is a short walk away is incredible (many of the rooms, atriums, pools, hot tub, and exercise room are complimentary), classes are available for a small fee. Many services are available at the spa, but we didn't avail of them. Tennis courts and clinics are nearby, as is the beachclub which was not in full-swing, as it was January (but 75+ degrees). The heated family and adult pools and hot tub were delightful. A shuttle away is the Lodge and one of the facilities golf courses , where we enjoyed listening to the sunset bagpiper on the Lodge lanai followed a delicious meal in the main dining room. This was our 2nd stay and we especially enjoyed the "off-season" pace. All in all, the experience was spectacular. This was our 2nd stay and we especially enjoyed the "off-season" pace.

Cloister Anniversary

The hotel was beautiful! Our room was upgraded to celebrate our 25th anniversary, this was a great surprise :) We were a little disappointed that the staff wasn't more up to date with when,where and the time of events during our 4 day stay. But there was so much to do and it didn't hold us back!The bike ride and horseback along the beach was awesome. And our Anniversary Dinner in the Georgian Room was... absolutely fabulous with our own waiter and chef.

Understandably why its one of the best in USA!!!

Can't speak highly enough about standard of hotel.From the moment you arrive at entrance gate, there is an aura of anticipation about the whole ambience of what you are about to enjoy. Beautifully presented, exceptionally friendly staff, fantastic accommodation. You get the picture! -my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and would have no hesitation in recommending someone to go there-just be prepared to have to spend some money, partic food-wise. Free shuttle service to/from Golf Courses is a great benefit too. Look forward to a return visit some time in hopefully the not too distant future.

Wow- great family get away

What is not to like! Beautiful grounds,family activities, comfortable accodations, and friendly staff. Ice cream parlor, candy shop, movie theater, pool and beach. Fun for the whole family.
