"A lovely little hotel slightly off the beaten track but within easy distance of Stirling and main routes to the highlands. Beautifully decorated. Excellent breakfast. The pub food is really good too should you need lunch or dinner. It was quite warm and humid when I visited with no a/c, although hotel provided a fan, which was helpful. It’s located at a busy intersection, so there is traffic, but given that it’s located in the country, there is still a sense of peace about it. Highly recommend."

"The hotel was super as usual. The menu in the restaurant however was limited. I would have liked to see a cold option in this heat wave. I did have to phone down to reception at 01:30 due to a party going on in a room next door. It was however dealt with swiftly and this was outwith the hotels control. Room was clean, good selection of tea's in the room with nice biscuits and hot chocolate too. Staff were professional and helpful."

"The exterior of the Inn could benefit from some improvements. First impressions matter, and on arrival we were concerned it might be a little run down. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case — our room was pleasant, comfortable, and spacious enough for a one‑night stay. The only downside was that the coffee and tea facilities were very limited, with just two sachets and a few milk capsules, and as the Inn closes early there was no staff around in the evening to ask for more. "This was a very cute little inn above the pub! That definitely gave the stay character, unfortunately it meant the noise could be heard from the pub below. This really wasn't a major problem though, as around 10:00 pm it was all but quite. The property is very convenient and right in the down town! The staff were fantastic! Very helpful and made us feel welcomed!"

"It is convenient to park your car at this inn. Highland Gate is not the inn but the the restaurant. The Highland Gate restaurant and Marton's Inn are in two separate buildings. The inn's outside apearance and inside conditions are quite mediocre: carpet in the hallway looks dirty at every entrance to the room; there is no rack or shelve for suitcases though the room size is decent; the bathroom has a peculiar smell (not stinky but unpleasant to me), and the double bed (made of two single beds)...

"Great town to base yourself we stayed there for 8 years so we know this . The guest house is beautiful back from the road so very peaceful. The hosts are so lovely and welcoming. The room we had was a small double and it was immaculate,clean and had everything you need . Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to eat . You won’t be disappointed "

"The location was great for the castle and the center of Stirling. The property and room was in really good condition and the sofa bed was made up to accommodate our family of 5. For a single room for all of us this worked surprisingly well - fairly spacious with a big bathroom. The parking, while an extra charge, was spacious and secure and we were able to leave the car there after checking out until 2pm as we toured the castle. Overall very happy with our experience."

"Hotel was clean and comfortable. On the main road in town, but noise wasn't an issue. Easy walk on the main road to shops and restaurants, though the hotel had a very good restaurant, as well as a bar in the back. Breakfast was very good, adequate choices. Only 3 miles from Bracklinn Falls, worth the short drive and then a short walk."

"Close to university but amenities were not good. The vending machine was not working and even they did not have bottle water at bar."
