A fantastic property with a wonderful common area for games/cards/drinking etc.! The breakfast was also wonderful and the hospitality was wonderful. We had a picturesque view of the wonderful mountains from our window - it was unbelievable.

Incredible place especially for families with teens or young kids. Our kids (9, 11, 11 and 17) would have enjoyed just staying at the hotel and playing in the huge play area. 30 minutes to Berchtesgaden and Eagles Nest and Lake Koningsee. But also across the road from a Great Lake / River itself. Owner who runs the place is amazing and incredibly hard working. Breakfast was excellent. Fresh eggs cooked to order. Also great area for dinner less than a 5 minute drive. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

Great place!

Very interesting decor! The gentleman that met us was friendly and helpful. The bed was a bit sunken in…is this just the style for beds in Germany?? The breakfast was excellent and they cooked scrambled eggs to order. I’d definitely stay here again!

Awesome property in beautiful location. Incredible breakfast buffet in a great setting. Very clean and comfortable room and common areas. Perfect central location for trips to Salzburg, Eagle’s Nest and Hohenwerfen. A 10 minute drive into the town, where there is great selection of restaurants. ABOVE ALL ELSE, the service by the staff was 5 star. I did not catch his name, but older gentleman was very attentive to us throughout our stay. He offered suggestions for places to visit and cooked scrambled eggs for us every morning. Incredible hospitality!! Also, there is a nearby lake with crystal clear water for swimming (Thumsee).

The person in charge (not sure if he is the owner) is incredible - a one man band. He did our check-in and gave us a tour to the hotel. Next morning he was by himself preparing the amazing breakfast. So many options and he even a offered us fresh scrambled eggs and bacon. We all loved the whole experience!

A stunning location nestled within mountain ranges, in the Bavarian Alps that straddles the border between Germany and Austria. It felt like we were staying in a very beautiful and cosy cottage. The hotel owner Josef Posch and his family have run the business for over two hundred years, they also run a busy and popular outdoor activity centre on the premise. Some of the nearby lands and mountains belong to him and his family. Josef was so warm, helpful and accommodating. On the first night, we checked in quite late as there was delay with our flights. He carried our luggages for us himself, even ordered some delicious pasta from a nearby takeaway for us. Downstairs there’s a whole counter of all sorts of tea and coffee available all day free of charge, and a fridge full of delicious cold drinks, he told everyone to help themselves and just tell him what we had on check out, we have never met business owner more generous, hospitable and trusting.

200 year old nice family run business. They do rafting trips. We were upstairs, no elevator, but the older owner helped us carry our luggage up all the stairs. Great service. Great home breakfast.

Badet var ikke godt rengjort. Madrassene i sengene var svært harde, det var kaldt på rommet. Det eneste vi var godt fornøyd med, var frokosten. Det var buffet med godt utvalg og god mat.
