"I love beautiful old buildings, and this was one of them. The grounds were beautiful. The staff were very polite. The breakfast was very nice. All in all my partner and i had a wonderful time, and will definitely be booking the same place again next year.

"Barton Instow Guest house is a jewel in the crown. A lovely old converted farmhouse nestled in the Instow countryside but only a short walk to the beautiful beach front. "Friendly staff, great location for the museum, theatre, seafront and harbour. There is a bus stop right outside for Barnstaple for shopping. We asked if we could have a ground floor room when we booked and that was what we were given. The bathroom was large and very clean. We had to leave early as our granddaughter was unwell and the night staff were very helpful. We would stay in this hotel again.
Only downside was the decor was a bit tired in our room."
"Stayed before and so know the deal. Paid slightly more for a better room, which was lovely. Clean, spacious and comfortable with great views. Shower only warm which was disappointing.
No bar, no breakfast but not bothered by lack of either.

"I was impressed with the lady who ran the hotel that night. She checked me in, instructed me where to park my car, advised where to get dinner because they didn't provide evening meals, served my drink in the bar, laid my table for my brought in take away dinner and then cleared up and still managed to do some cleaning. She made my evening very easy and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more. "
