I normally don’t do reviews but this was a great experience hence giving it. They gave a free upgrade to summer suite which provided a great view to the sunset. The staff was excellent, breakfast was included and was decent (however they do require notifications of breakfast items in advance). The only issue (which we didn’t face but can foresee) is hotel location - it is not accessibility friendly, so it is likely very hard for people in wheelchairs, older folks with joint issues etc.

Our stay at Fanari felt like a fairytale. The cave villa was very spacious for our family of 4, and we equally loved the sun deck with dramatic views of the caldera and sapphire blue waters below, and balcony with perfect sunset views. Perched high above Amouddi Bay, Fanari is also ideally situated in Oia, past the crowds, but just a short walk from all the shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful and had a great recommendation for a Catamaran tour. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Fanari is ideally located with the most amazing sunset views. The staff is incredible. Truly could not find a better location in Santorini. Close to everything yet set away from the huge crowds.

We stayed here for our honeymoon, and the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking—an unforgettable experience. The hotel offers a pool, sauna, and gym, and the staff were kind enough to guide us on how to use them. We were also delighted by the occasional visits from a friendly cat outside our room, which added to the charm. Although Japan is far, making it difficult to visit often, we are certain that we will return someday.

Sunset view room

We stayed in the senior suit and it was very nice. The sunset view, service, breakfast etc. and the restaurant is better than some highest ratting restaurants in the town. If you don't stay here, you should definitely have dinner here, then you can enjoy both the sunset view and the great food.

What a fantastic hotel! We wanted a top hotel in Santorini for our honeymoon. We were not disappointed!!! Booked a honeymoon suite and it was phenomenal! The property was amazing! Had breakfast every day, and dinner one night. Every employee made you feel extremely welcomed! All the views were amazing, especially the world famous sunset. Would 100% recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Our stay at Fanari Villas was absolutely incredible - pictures just don't do this place justice - the location and views are unbeatable. You feel like a part of the family immediately once you arrive, the staff is very sweet and attentive and ensure your stay is everything you hoped it would be. I would HIGHLY recommend this property, the villa was spacious and felt old-world yet modern, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious and our time lounging by the pool overlooking the Aegean was amazing. We hope to return someday!

The best hotel we stayed at on our entire 3 week trip!! Beautiful sunset views from your room and they are so accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back! They had a wonderful breakfast each morning with amazing views as well. The staff is very kind and even shared history of the island as we checked in and he showed us to our room. The staff also carried our large luggage to and from the parking lot which was wonderful considering all of the stairs on the island. Overall this is a wonderful choice as it is perfect for its location to the town and position towards the world famous sunsets. Highly recommend!!

A true dream vacation

We had a wonderful time, a true dream vacation staying here (Honeymoon for me). Staff are very friendly and kind they treated us like family. The service was superb I highly recommend this place. There is an amazing restaurant in the hotel and other restaurants are only a few minutes walk. Actually everything is a few minutes away, shops, restaurants, historic buildings and great views. The hotel was the perfect place to get to see the breathtaking sunset and it has a panoramic view of the sea. We were in the sunset honeymoon suite and we had a very private patio and a 2nd floor with tanning/beach chairs which is semi-private, people can see you in certain angles ( you are top of the roof). The hotel is more private than other hotels that we saw which is one of the main reasons we love it here. I will come here again!

The staff were all really friendly and extremely helpful. The place was clean, bright and the breakfast was good. Only suggestion would be to include coffee in the buffet breakfast (non Greek coffee). We stayed in the Kyklos Villa for part of the stay which was amazing and highly recommend. Then the Junior Suite (Caldera view) which could do with a modernised bathroom especially given the price per night. Additionally our neighbours were chain smokers making it rather unpleasant to enjoy our outdoor seating area. The hotel should allocate a specific smoking area for guests so not to ruin the experience for others. Overall a beautiful place to stay with kind people and hospitality.

If you are staying in Oia, look no further. Fanari Villas is the perfect location, situated among the beautiful whitewashed buildings and a gorgeous view overlooking the caldera. The complimentary breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and was delicious. What really stood out was the incredible staff. We were welcomed at the private parking lot and our bags were carried up to our rooms. The lobby staff treated us like family and made sure we had everything we needed. They gave us a tour of the the property and upgraded our room. They even went out of their way to walk us to a nearby church owned by the Fanari family since the 1600's. The last day our flight wasn't until late and they let us keep our luggage there all day, while also providing us with a map and excellent itinerary options. Santorini was the last leg of a 2.5 week trip throughout Europe (Switzerland, Italy, and Greece). Fanari Villas was by far the best service we received.

Everything was great. Breakfast included was a good option and they even rang the room in the morning before it ended to amke sure we could get there. Incredible staff at reception that i had the pleasure of working with Caterina, Penelope, Andrian. Wow really they were all great. Caterina worked closely with me calling her a number of times while she coordinated a boat ride and transport to and from the boat. Wow was the ride amazing. Andrian took my request but Caterina handled all the booking and money etc. Wow truly great. Thank you three so so much. Penelope made checkin and checkout a breeze and a pleasure and took some nice photos of me and my fiancé as well as showed us the special church on the property owned by the owner. Such special history. I hope to see you all again. Best wishes.

Please read the review if you have VEGETARIAN / VEGAN dietary restrictions. Restaurant doesn’t have any options that can serve the specific dietary restrictions. Even simple things like Chilli flakes to put on pasta, English Breakfast Tea packets and such are not available. If you’re paying a premium then you’d at least expect some basic food options or tea or breakfast options etc. Facilities, Location - Five Star, Restaurant staff was annoyed when I asked for English Breakfast Tea packet. Reservation Desk Staff - Five Star Everything else about this property is incredible but the food is major let down. Hope they’d listen and improve upon since I’d love to go back the same property again in future.
